Along with Howie Meeker as mentioned, I believe the only names with any hope at a QO.  I’d like to think even the Brits QO Ted Lindsay, who was on the Production Line with Gordie Howe on the Detroit Red Wings.  If not him then none of these guys will obit.  Maybe Meeker.

Would assume any NHL Hall Of Famers would get DailyMail at least, but say a 90 year old journeyman who played 10 seasons is probably only getting writeup's in Hockey specific outlets or in Canadian papers.

If you’re referring to Meeker he did more for Hockey Night in Canada and broadcasting in general fter his playing days, his role in TV was far more important - and tv personalities have a good shot at a QO.  Meeker played on basically one team so maybe you didn’t mean him, or maybe you didn’t mean anyone and we’re making a generalization?  Lol

Yeah just a generalazation based on past hockey players who did or didn't get QO. But yeah, people in Broadcasting for a long time  tend to safely obit as well.

Wow has Detroit lost one of their heroes.  The Production Line getting back together.  RIP.

And fwiw, a hit for my Made In Detroit DDP theme team.  I guess all my 'hits' are going to be painful, being the hometown and all.  This was a big'n.

QO for Lindsay.  My faith in the Brits media correct.  I still stick to the three remaining.  If Meeker goes first, it's possible but unlikely that Hannigan would get a follow up QO for being the last of that Cup team to survive.

I kind of wonder if Red Kelly gets a QO? I wouldn't be surprised for that, but let's see.

Not sure if it’s needed anywhere, but he indeed gets a QO.
