Jim Pappin, who played over 750 NHL games combined, from 1963-64 through 1976-77 combined with Toronto, Chicago, California and Cleveland, collecting two Stanley Cups along the way, has died. He was 82.  Pappin's two championships came with the Maple Leafs earlier in his career but spent the bulk of his time with the Black Hawks (as the team name was spelled, at the time). He retired with 278 goals and 295 assists for 573 points.

I would argue that anyone currently in the NBA/MLB/NFL/NHL HOF gets a QO 95% of the time.

Dave Dryden, a goaltender who split his career between the NHL and WHA, has died. He was 81. Dryden played a single game for the New York Rangers in 1961-62, then played parts of three seasons with the Chicago Black Hawks in the 2nd half of the 60s, before spending four seasons with the Buffalo Sabres in the early 1970s. He would spend five years in the WHA,  mostly with the Edmonton Oilers and remained with Edmonton for their first NHL season in 1979-80. Dryden was the brother of NHL goaltender-turned lawyer-turned author-turned elected politician-turned Senator Ken Dryden.

Joe Crozier, who played five NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs as part of a long professional career, but who had greater success as an NHL coach with the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs, has died. He was 93. Crozier also coached in the now defunct WHA with the Vancouver Blazers and Calgary Cowboys. He is a member of the Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame.

Might be nothing, but Doug Wilson stepping away from his GM role after an extended medical leave + chatter on Twitter and Reddit that it's related to his health worsening. He's in his 60s, and league execs tend to have to be pushed out the door in their 80s (see: Lou, L.) and they don't generally leave willingly for no reason

Seems it was a health thing:

Not sure what it is, but might be worth keeping an eye on

I suggested Crozier as one of a wee handful of NHL folks who might QO.  As of this post he did not.  Hockey players/coaches are a tough get.

sad news that former player, and coach, Bob Murdoch has lewy body dementia and now lives in an assisted living facility, according to his friend Ken Dryden (in an article he wrote earlier this year).

among his accolades: 2 Stanley cups, NHL all-star game (1974), and a Jack Adams award

Peter McNab, who played 954 games combined with Buffalo, Boston, Vancouver and New Jersey over 14 years, from the early 1970s to the mid 1980s, has died. He was 70. After his career, McNab went into broadcasting, where he was an analyst for the Colorado Avalanche.
