Eddie Shack, one of the most colourful players in NHL history, having played over 1,000 games and assessed nearly 1,500 penalty minutes, has died. He was 83. Shack played for a half-dozen different teams from the late 1950s to the mid 1970s, including two stints with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the latter one having closed out his career.
