Ron Tudor, an Australian music industry legend, has died. He was 96. Tudor began in the industry with W&G Records as a sales rep in 1956. He later founded his own label, Fable Records, in 1969. Tudor would hit paydirt in 1970 when his artists recorded their own version of international hits, following 'the Record Ban', where artists like the Beatles were removed from the airwaves.

Fans of the tv show Prisoner Cell Block H might be interested to know that the actress Betty Bobbit, who played the character Judy Bryant for most of its run, is not doing so well and may not have long to go. Watch this space!

Let's not forget the classic "Willesee versus Skyhooks" interview (which is the Australian equivalent of "Grundy versus Sex Pistols"):

Part 1 (introduction and song):

Part 2 (the interview - even today it is painful to watch the two most famous people in the country at the time go head to head :D):

Skyhooks original guitarist Peter Starkie dead at 72.  He was gone before the above took place, however.

When she turned 80 they said she could go on for another ten years like a vegetable. Gladly it was not the case.

Among the surviving perennial dementia sufferers I count Carmen Sevilla, Joanne Woodward and the Queen of them all, Monica Vitti.
