Okay, so you would have heard by now that Rudd and Gillard have both been consigned to the dustbin of history and that Tony "The Mad Monk" Abbot is the new prime minister. He is an arch-conservative drop-out Roman Catholic seminarian.

*snip*

Andrew Peacock (Liberal, born 1939.) Most famous outside of Australia for shagging Shirley MacLaine.

*snip*

As I was saying, slim pickings there in terms of the likelihood of any of them dying anytime soon but worthy of cataloguing for the future nonetheless.

Andrew Peacock, Liberal Leader of the Opposition (1983–1985, 1989–1990) dead at 82.

Sad news about Lorrae Desmond. I always liked her in A Country Practice.

I had my eye on her purely down to age (though she seemed spritely on her 90th birthday) and was considering her for next year.

Gosh I remember him, with his lopsided way of performing.

It's also a reminder that Paul Hogan is 82 this year.....:o

The Daily Mail just covered him a few days ago, after a "life-saving" leg amputation...maybe the leg still lives?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10125035/Patti-Newton-shares-rare-photo-husband-Bert-undergoing-life-saving-leg-amputation-surgery.html

Family: Patti Newton has shared a rare photo of husband Bert with his grandchildren after undergoing life-saving leg amputation surgery on Sunday

I thought there would be a QO once I finish writing this post.

Edit: Ah tricky, but it's there: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10147249/Australian-TV-legend-Bert-Newton-dies-aged-83.html
