Was that just an excuse to post a picture of a car?

Guy Edwards, father of Sean, who was killed in a crash last year, is in poor health. He has suffered a stroke (last year or so, before Sean's death) and now requires full-time care. Like Leo Kinnunen, who is in a similiar situation, he's no longer physically well, but mentally okay. Edwards is 71.

Two recent deaths not posted on here thus far were 1950's one-time GP driver and engineer, Paul England, and the former Lancia F1 team manager Gianni Lancia, son of Vincenzo Lancia, the founder of the company, has died aged 90.

Leo Kinnunen reportedly dead at 73. https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportti.com%2Fuutinen.asp%3FCAT%3D1-1%26ID%3D344023&edit-text

Leo Kinnunen will be a Q/O reality check - only eight competitive laps in F1 (in a car that was never expected to finish and only fuelled a little beyond ten laps)

So he was a Grand Prix driver, but only for a few minutes

His chance to shine finally came at Targa Florio as Rodriguez was ill on the race day with the new Porsche 908/03. On the final lap of the race, Kinnunen set a time of 33'36min, breaking the old lap record by 1½ minutes. This is still the fastest ever time recorded for the track.

Martin Brundle has been taken ill at the British Grand Prix, he suffered a minor heart attack a little over a year ago and has had heart surgery since then.

EDIT: Sky confirm he won't take part in today's broadcast

Positive update from the man himself:

I've been to Thruxton today for the British Superbikes and unfortunately Mark Fincham was killed in the Superstock 1000 race.

He's dead now - Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, BBC.

This must be death of the year in Spain, because his carking it actually kept the Neymar-to-PSG story off the front of all of the sports papers down Iberia way.

Motorcycle racing is huge there, it would be on a par with football and way bigger than F1. He was Spain's most sucessful rider ever and 3rd in all time Grand Prix wins so I'm not surprised it's big news there.

Tambay was one of the Grand Prix Masters (three races 2005-2006) and was easily the most consistent driver because he finished 11th in all three of the races staged. From the very start of the series his fitness - along with that of the conspiciously fat Alan Jones - was called into question.

Is this where news of such events is heading? Hardly a fitting tribute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsUIj1ioh8M

At least the video opening with such happy music and bright paint colours set me in a good mood for 20 seconds.

Nobody dead (yet) but thought those interested in this thread might have an opinion about McLaren's plan for the future of the British Grand Prix, on a street circuit in Woking?

Link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-40945691

Other than the improbability of some of what is proposed (e.g. pits on floating pontoons in the nearby canal) it strikes me as amazingly similar to the circuit they proposed when they were looking to move their testing operation to Lydden Hill at the end of the last century.

At this time of year these deaths get BBC obits: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-41003226

Then again, too random to predict for Deadpool purposes, right?

I didn't know him but he was a friend of a friend. Obviously everyone is devastated. However the family have found out he was already registered with the organ donation scheme so they are taking some comfort that he will help others in death.
