If that doesn’t work, ESPN probably will work. Amazed he doesn’t have a DDP obit yet though

There are plenty of industry obits, not worried about that.

Broadsheet obits (as opposed to a basic mention of the death) often don't appear immediately.

Ladies and Gents -- allow Sir Creep to present the 2020 DDP 'Person Most Checked Health Status'.
Cuz if it's not good, she's D40.  If she's ok, maybe one person take a shot.

Michelle Lindsay, owner of TOBC Racing, which has won multiple Daytona 200 races, is recovering quickly after undergoing surgery on June 14 in Falls Church, Virginia, to remove a pancreatic cancer tumor, according to a post on Facebook.

On June 16, Wilson posted:

"Updates on Michelle A Lindsay: so she is a week or so ahead of schedule somehow. All drainage and stomach tubes are out and she is on a liquid diet. She has been working very hard toward being able to eat and drink. Spirits are high and she’s barely on any pain meds.  Hospital and surgical staff are just kind of in awe at her recovery from the Whipple procedure.  It's day two and her body is already doing everything on its own. That’s normally something that takes about two weeks for most."

Andretti’s cancer is back yet again:

While I don’t think he’s going in the very near future, the fact that his cancer keeps recurring is not a good sign, so probably a solid pick sooner rather than later... :skull:

Update on John Andretti, and he gives a shout out to us DPers!!

“It's hard to say at this point if the treatment is working.  The way the tumors are reacting to the treatment, it's difficult for doctors to tell if they're growing or are simply being agitated by the new medicine. Unfortunately, scans have revealed some new tumors, but John said that wasn't totally unexpected.

"I don’t worry about it at all," John said. "It is what it is. We all have our last day here. Some are predicting when my last day is.”

Niki Lauda isn't dead. He just got tired of all this pointless materialistic sexistic show. Then, after carefully consulting his fast-money-making doctors,  he carefully faked his death and is right now counting his money and sipping another well chilled Piña Colada and viewing his stunning harem of pretty chicks on a remote untouched South Pacific island. Every hot girl in Niki's harem is giggling, talking BS, wearing plastic miniskirts and heavy make-up while playing softball on an untouched paradise beach. No chick of his has a figure less than 38-24-36.

Drivers who are poorly or have an illness of some sort:

Bondurant, Campbell - Jones (dementia or similar age related issues)

Ashmore, von Rooyen (cancer)

Tambay, Laffite, W Fittipaldi (Parkinson's)

Cabral and Edwards have age-related issues.

I'm sure there is a few more but I can't remember currently.

Obit chances of the non-Parkinson's trio? Probably only Bondurant, maybe

Saw the crash on telly earlier, just after the F1 qualifying. Horrific. Truly horrific. I only saw him last month at Silverstone, he was quite a talent.

Fulfilling anyone's morbid curiosity.   It's just a crash.  What's horrific is knowing the result.

"The best"? You're a cunt.

But seriously, that's kind of it; the cameras all panned away afterwards out of respect and never replayed the footage because it was probably quite clear that a geezer being T-Boned at 170mph wasn't going to be all that nice.

This crash was filmed no doubt with a lot of cameras. The TV cameras, there must be serveying cameras along the track and on top of that all cars were equiped with multiple cameras. So the cause of the crash can be viewed from multiple angles. And track officials and authorities will no doubt view them, but we, Joe Public, will never see them. And quite understandably.
