Bonaire, Saba and Sint will be issuing stamps together as "Caribisch Nederland". 1Actually, there's no agreement on the constitutional nature of the Kingdom and the Charter for the Kingdom of the Netherlands does not use words like confederation. Tanja Nijmeijer, FARC-rebel There are rumours in Colombian and Dutch media that she's been killed in action, in the same raid in which Mono Jojoy, a top Farc rebel leader, is reported to be killed. Could be a massive points bonanza for Vaagheid if: 1. She is dead 2. She gets an obit 1. according to some Columbian sources it seems likely that she died2. I fear she won't get the right obit, DDP-points or not i am still very proud that i predicted her death. Prepare yourself for a disappointment: the Colombian Defense Ministry reports a woman killed in the raid is not Ms Nijmeijer. Possibly the information is needed to establish the identity of rebels killed by the Colombian army attack on a FARC base last week, but the Dutch Foreign Ministry could not confirm this. Dutchwoman Tanja Nijmeijer, who is 32, joined the Colombian guerrillas years ago. She may have been on the scene of last Thursday's attack which killed the notorious rebel commander, Mono Jojoy. No English news source yet. 1As in: he was a member of the team that won the 1968 Olympic Team Time Trial. His team mates were Joop Zoetemelk, René Pijnen and Jan Krekels, all very much alive. What baffles me is that a country like Holland (with VERY strict anti-gunlaws) allows such a person to be a member of a shooting club (or whatever "schietvereniging" translates to). That they give a person with his background a gun permit. I wasn't even aware that they allowed people who are members of a shooting club to store a weapon in their home. He was locked up in a funny farm for suicidal tendencies, the media claim. I've read no reports about what mental illness he exactly suffered from. I'm sure we'll learn. What baffles me is that a country like Holland (with VERY strict anti-gunlaws) allows such a person to be a member of a shooting club (or whatever "schietvereniging" translates to). That they give a person with his background a gun permit. I wasn't even aware that they allowed people who are members of a shooting club to store a weapon in their home. The goverment really needs to do something about this. They need to tighten these gun laws to prefend cases like these. As far as I'm concerned I see little reason why people should own or handle fire arms anyway. Those toys should have been taken from the boys ages ago. I don't expect we'll live to see it happen.
