Cancelled his upcoming UK dates as well. Definitely one to pencil in.

"We regret to announce that unfortunately Murray Perahia has had to withdraw from his recital on 21 June 2018 due to ill health. We look forward to welcoming him back for his recital......on 3 June 2019.

I"m sure they do.  Right after we welcome him to next year's Drop40.

Former royal harpist Catrin Finch has breast cancer:

I dismissed initial reports because it was "caught early", but now, "caught early" apparently includes stage III.

Matt Marks, a young composer, musician and founding member of the contemporary music ensemble Alarm Will Sound, died suddenly Friday, May 11. The group made an announcement Saturday on Twitter, with no cause of death given. Marks was 38.

He also composed his own operas and musical theater works, including The Little Death: Vol. 1, which he called his post-Christian nihilist pop opera, Mata Hari, about the famous spy (for the PROTOTYPE Festival) and Headphone Splitter, an ongoing project he described as a pop-horror miniseries.

If the video below is any indication, he was a little bit out there.  That is a compliment.

FFS, Gcreptile was asking about classical music folk and after looking up really old folk for him, I added this guy to my long list yesterday. Kiss of fucking death.
