Violinist Jaap Schröder dead at 94 years on 1/1/2020.. I happen to have his fine recording of Bach sonatas and partitas. To Bladey Spears (the resident superhero) this is the first interesting death in 2020.

Actually, I really have seen Sykes' band Joglaresa live in concert.  Damned if I can remember which festival it was though, but they weren't a great choice after consuming vast amounts of drugs.

I saw Sykes presumably on the same website everyone else did (ie Slipped Disc, is it a secret when Reptiles quoted it so often?),  but am still unconvinced of her QO potential.

well...if you listen to the above radio 3 link (who listens to radio 3 btw?) , there's no need to worry about ANY obit in the near future it seems....

American Pianist Peter Serkin dead at 72 years:
