Telegraph obit for Nikki van der Zyl.

This is a quite remarkable aspect of Bond that i had never before known about. It seems that she dubbed the voices of almost all the Bond girls in the early years and some of them subsequently hated her for it.

A bit like Julie Andrews' singing being dubbed by Marnie Nixon although that is a much more well-known case.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (1989) has only two out of the five main voice actors alive.

It had...

Lou Albano (1933-2009) as Mario

Danny Wells (1941-2013) as Luigi

Jeannie Elias (b. 1954) as Princess Toadstool

John Stocker (b. 1947) as Toad

and Harvey Atkin (1942-2017) as King Koopa.

Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but: daytime emmy winner and voice actor Jim Ward has Alzheimer's and recently survived covid that, according to his wife, almost killed him.

(Notable voice roles include Captain Qwark from the Ratchet and Clank series, Diamondhead in Ben 10 and Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens, Henry Peter Gyrich in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, newscaster Chet Ubetcha and Doug Dimmadome, Owner Of The Dimmsdale Dimmadome on The Fairly OddParents, Angus on The Secret Files of the Spy Dogs, and Professor Xavier in Wolverine and the X-Men)

Has been in minor roles in a lot of popular 2000s children's animated movies like Despicable Me, Finding Nemo, Madagascar, Monsters Inc., Shrek, Wall-E and the Toy Story movies.

Video game credits include multiple Call of Duty games, Diablo III, Dota 2, The Elder Scrolls Online, multiple Fallout games, Final Fantasy XIII, multiple Metal Gear Solid games, Red Dead Redemption 2, Resident Evil and two Star Trek and Star Wars games.

Walker Boone, successor to Lou Albano as the animated voice of Mario, died back in January aged 76.

All four actors who portrayed Mario or Luigi in the 80s/90s cartoons are now dead (Albano and Boone for Mario, Danny Wells and Tony Rosato for Luigi).

Posting the death of Denise Bryer here, as voice acting was what she was chiefly famous for.

Great clip of the Terrahawks voice cast reuniting in 2009 and having some fun together. Bryer absolutely brilliant at the end.

The voice actors of Terrahawks:

Denise Bryer (1928–2021)
Windsor Davies (1930–2019)

Jeremy Hitchen (b. 1960)
Anne Ridler (1930–2011)
Robbie Stevens (aka Ben Stevens, b. circa 1960?)

Hitchen and Stevens are both still active and were considerably younger than the other three, so there will likely be a big gap between all their deaths.

That's sad. Still working right up until the end. He recently signed up to a new Disney Pixar film.

One of the few surviving Super Friends voices from the 1970s/80s. Shannon Farnon (Wonder Woman from 1973 to 1983) is still alive, as are Bill Callaway (Aquaman), Michael Bell (Zan/Gleek) and Louise Williams (Jayna). Everybody else (heroes and villains) is pretty much gone.

Christopher Ayres, English voice of Frieza in Dragon Ball Z, has died. He was 56.

Didn't voice Frieza in Dragon Ball Z, but rather in some of the later Dragon Ball series. In DBZ it was actually a woman... Linda Young (wiki). As far as I'm aware, all of the voice cast of the main English dub of DBZ are quite incredibly still with us, but a lot of the original Japanese voices are dead.

Used to love DBZ when I was a kid. Went round to my neighbours house every day after school to watch it because we only had terrestrial TV in my house until I was 12!

Another off-radar death?

His Star Tiger profile says that prominent voice actor Val Bettin (wiki), died on January 7, aged 97.

Known for using an English accent in all of his voices, even though he was American.

Notable Disney roles include Dawson in The Great Mouse Detective and The Sultan in the Aladdin film series. Last film role was as The Bishop in Shrek.

Edit: picked on several deadpools on here. Bad luck.

That’s quite a big name to die off radar. Type of name that you could imagine the Mirror splashing on because putting Disney in the headline gets clicks.
