Another off-radar death?

His Star Tiger profile says that prominent voice actor Val Bettin (wiki), died on January 7, aged 97.

Known for using an English accent in all of his voices, even though he was American.

Notable Disney roles include Dawson in The Great Mouse Detective and The Sultan in the Aladdin film series. Last film role was as The Bishop in Shrek.

Edit: picked on several deadpools on here. Bad luck.

He only voiced the Sultan in the sequels and TV series. Sad loss indeed :( !

It's frustrating that this doesn't suffice on Wikipedia.

It should suffice. FindAGrave is blacklisted because its user-built, like Wikipedia, but funeral homes aren't.

Voice actor Will Ryan (The Land Before Time, Adventures in Odyssey, The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin) has passed away.

This IG post from voice actress, Katie Leigh, said he was only 72 rather than the reported 82.

I saw this yesterday. The tweet is from a day or two ago, and the poster hasn't deleted it despite the fact that it looks like a hoax that started on her Wiki page. The person who changed her Wiki page added the "dead or alive" bot site as a source then instantly marked it as a permanently dead link, which is what hoaxers on there sometimes do to avoid automatic detection.

Still could be true, but I doubt it. She seems to be pretty prominent in her field.

Death notice for voice actor and comedian Leo De Lyon (wiki), under his real name of Irving Levin. His death is also listed in the new issue of SAG-AFTRA magazine, which I'll be covering later tonight.

Died on September 18, aged 96.

De Lyon voiced both Spook and Brain on TopCat, and was the last surviving voice actor from the main cast.

Correct.

I missed it because he's erroneously listed under the letter "L".

Oh, damn, he's starting to show his age now, and is a lot frailer compared to 10 months ago. At his age there is 1 in 10 chance of recovering from a stroke fully, a considerably shorter than the 3 year average for surviving a serious one, and vastly increased chances of a secondary. This has high odds of KOing his chance to becoming a centenarian now, and imo he is highly highly Deathlisty.

EDIT - For search purposes, Thunderbirds and Peppa Pig star David Graham, 96, should go on the 2022 Deathlist.

Surely it’s time for him to have his own thread? 96, in declining health and just someone who feels deathlisty. .

Here's a quick list of the (presumed) living voice actors from the first 20 Disney Animated Classics. It includes both credited and uncredited performers. Quite a few of them only ever had a small speaking role in a single film, and so I doubt they would get an obituary meaning a few of these could already be dead. The most recent film to have no surviving cast is The Lady and The Tramp (1955). The oldest surviving Disney Princess is Mary Costa, who voiced Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and is aged 87.

Snow White

Pinocchio: Patricia Page

Fantasia: Corey Burton, Hugh Douglas, Tim Matheson

Dumbo: Harold Manley, Tony Neil, Billy Sheets

Bambi: Stan Alexander, Bobette Audrey, Peter Behn, Janet Chapman, Jeanne Christy, Dolyn Bramston Cook, Donnie Dunagan, Ann Gillis, Babs Nelson, Sandra Lee Richards, Francesca Santoro, Bobby Stewart

Saludos Amigos

The Three Caballeros: Dora Luz

Make Mine Music

Fun and Fancy Free

Melody Time

The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr Toad: Edmond Stevens

Cinderella: William Phipps, Earl Keen, John Woodbury, Lucille Williams, Clint McCauley, June Sullivan, Helen Seibert

Alice in Wonderland: Kathryn Beaumont, Bob Hamlin

Peter Pan: Kathryn Beaumont, Paul Collins, Tony Butala, Carol Coombs, Connie Hilton, Margaret Kerry, Karen Kester, Johnny McGovern, Norma Jean Nilsson, Jeffrey Silver, Stuffy Singer, Anne Whitfield

Lady and the Tramp

Sleeping Beauty: Mary Costa

101 Dalmatians: Cate Bauer, David Frankham, Lisa Davis, Mickey Maga, Barbara Beaird, Mimi Gibson, Sandra Abbott, Jeanne Bruns

The Sword in the Stone: Richard Reitherman, Robert Reitherman, Fred Darian

The Jungle Book: Bruce Reitherman, Clint Howard, Chad Stuart, Lord Tim Hudson, Darleen Carr, Leo DeLyon, Pete Henderson

The Aristocats: Lord Tim Hudson, Dean Clark, Liz English, Monica Evans, Carole Shelley, Roddy Maude-Roxby, Ruth Buzzi, Peter Renaday

He pretended to have pancreatic cancer too, once he started getting into legal trouble. Made him a cult dud pick in 2014, though unlike the Ryan Buells of the world it made you less "fuck this guy" and more kind of sad.
