msc 18,479 Posted August 13, 2016 I am flying back from my first trip to Africa today. I have been in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. It has rained everyday I have been here which was unexpected but apparently Addis is much higher than most of Africa. However it has been warm though the local don't think so they have wondered why we are not cold when we turn up to meetings in shirts when they are wearing jumpers, scarves and jackets. I understanding things are warming up back in blighty. I had a pal from Sudan who was over here on business a number of years ago. It was a heatwave by Glasgow standards, 30C, and he was in a jumper claiming it was "freezing". Mind you, 21C and over is a heatwave to me, whereas its a terrible Winters day for others. My Australian family always burst out laughing when we say we've been having a heatwave.

CarolAnn 926 Posted August 14, 2016 8:55 tomorrow morning I'm flying from Rzeszow to Warsaw, than at 11:55 from Warsaw to Chicago O'Hare. Early start for Cat. As I said to Bibliogryphon, "every weekend from Friday afternoon to Sunday tea-time my house gets totally taken over by my two nephews and their mate. They're up all night stealing cars, robbing people, killing zombies and playing football; I bugger off to bed and leave them to it. Hence, I'm normally up early. Sounds like my house. My husband is a gamer from waaaaaaaaay back, and when gamers get to where they can afford their own kit life gets interesting. In my house we have eight game decks (last I checked anyway), a huge flat screen TV, sound bar, cameras, gaming recliner that hooks up to the game deck and does all kinds of obscene things, racing seat with wheel, etc., for the racing games, wireless headphones so I don't kill everyone, I have no idea how many actual games, and my husband is rebuilding his gaming PC as we speak. My son is moving back home at the end of the month with all his crap as well. I need my own apartment. I'm tired of getting up on the weekends and finding young men sprawled all over my living room.

Morbidkid, the thing with sarcasm is it only works in text when the person being sarcastic couldn't be believed to be saying what they are typing seriously.
