Prominent US pedophile Paul Shanley (has a wiki page!), freed from prison, "extremely frail" and in "poor health", so he is no danger for the nearby children's dance studio:

Bit of a heartbreaking story on Radio Four this morning discussing the number of prisoners with no set release date just wasting away inside. No wish to encourage drive-by ranters here because it'd really upset them but - on the other hand - the case of J@mes Bl@ke would likely hit q/o standards if the worst happened whilst the government continue to drag their feet and keep funding low. Sun today reported Max Clifford had suffered a heart attack in jail and then tried to sell the story.

He's a current DDP pick for me and I find his ability to actually attend court in September positively depressing

Update on Catherine Nevin:

https://www.thesun.ie/news/1497939/black-widow-catherine-nevin-is-granted-temporary-release-from-prison-as-she-continues-health-battle/

Granted temporary release, supposedly "on her last legs" accourding to one source. Though we've heard that before.

Still, odds are moving rapidly in favor of the "drive for five".

Golden Slumbers has her as well, so it doesn't effect the competition between him and Spade even if she does die.

Hmm, not the first time I forgot about that.

Though at least The Dead Cow doesn't have her.

Gets visited by a reporter:

He apparently lives in some kind of sex offender hotspot and they've built their own community there, or something like that...

That local news report outs Ware as "a hotspot for high-risk sex offenders." In Donald Trump's America that mgiht translate into DDP theme team heaven with a little help from local vigilantes

Ah.  Not the one in Hertfordshire, then.

A little additional information from the Irish Mirror:

Bedridden (but still required to "sign on once every four weeks with probation officers"), her health supposedly took a considerable downturn in recent months.

Nat Fraser, that's his name. Apparently he's in the jail.

Yes he got jailed a few years ago now, I think his last trial was one of the few where television cameras were allowed in to film - my memory serves me that the judge was filmed sentencing him, it's happened a few times now but Scotland isn't big on that kind of thing. Rumour has always been that his wife's body was put through a machine that cuts up trees for  woodchips and what was came out  was fed to pigs, a surefire way to dispose of a body I have heard. He doesn't have a long sentence though given todays standards of 25 - 30 years, 17 I think he got in 2012/13 and the time he was locked up before will come into account so he could well be out in about 10 years.

I'll only believe she's truly on the way out once I see an obit tbh.

Hmm, yeah. So she was bedridden a few months ago, but now she's out with friends. Everything in that story changes by the news update.

Only a fool would have a convict on their shortlist after this runaround. Which might explain why I have a "dying" convict on my shortlist.
