George Nassar (1932) US, killed atleast two.

Turns out George Nassar died off the radar in December 2018. Still got a full NYT obit.

"A new movie about the case, “Boston Strangler,” which stars Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon and in which Mr. Nassar is played by Greg Vrotsos, asserts in a postscript that “George Nassar is still in prison in Massachusetts.”

That claim intrigued Sarah Weinman, a crime journalist and the Crime & Mystery columnist for The New York Times Book Review. “If he was indeed alive, Nassar would be nearing 90,” she wrote in an email. “Considering he’d revealed a diagnosis of terminal cancer when last interviewed in 2018, the likelihood that he still lived seemed minuscule.”

A call by her to the Massachusetts corrections department confirmed his death, though the details were not immediately provided."

Charles Bronson Salvador has his public parole hearing on March 6. I'm not sure if it's televised, but quite likely to be entertaining. He sends vibrators to his girlfriends, apparently. I wonder what would happen if he gets out...

We'll have to wait. (Bronson parole verdict)

If you want to take a gamble...

Business ally of Venezuelan president Maduro, Alex Saab is in an American prison, and has a possible recurrence of stomach cancer, a bacterial infection, a broken molar because of beatings, anemia, anorexia, diabetes type 2, hypothryoidism, hypertension, and a high risk of thromboemblic disease:

So, speaking of gambles as we were above Thomas Cashman has been given a 42 year sentence for murdering Olivia Pratt Korbell and one tabloid today ran with the story of a £250,000 bounty on his head, the point of the bounty being to stop him angling for an appeal on the grounds he'll grass up the other big hitters amongst Liverpool's drug dealing community. Just reading Who killed Daniel Morgan, a gleeless canter through an unsolved murder in which one constant theme is the ability of organised criminals to interfere with the law and get their way regardless of what law-abiding types want. Cashman is likely well short of friends at the moment and beyond redemption or use as far as his fellow gangsters are concerned.

I know where you live, Mr Maryportfuncity. And I can get there by bus (off-peak only).

Technically speaking those two things can't both be true - there's a decent walk involved from the nearest bus stop.

Louis Gaskin was executed on 4/12 in Florida for the murders of Robert and Georgette Sturmfels and the attempted murders of Joseph and Mary Rector that occurred on the night of December 20, 1989. He is popularly known as the Ninja Killer because he dressed in a full black ninja outfit to avoid identification

It may seem like too much of a coincidence but, come on now, what are the chances of having similarly named Barry BENNELL and TV personality/local BBC radio DJ Barry BETHELL as kiddy fiddlers?

I thought America's oldest prisoner Francis Clifford Smith had died off-radar. But, now 98 and in a nursing home, he was covered by the Boston Globe this week. The article also shows the first phot of him I ever saw.

A photo of a balding man with white hair and a beard, wearing a plaid shirt and khaki pants. He is sitting on the edge of a hospital bed in a sparse looking nursing home room. He's leaning forward, clasping his hands in front of him. To the right of him, there's a metal walker with a cane hanging on it. To the left of him, there's a privacy curtain used in nursing homes to separate beds.

Crikey, for the next fancy dress party held on the Pedo wing he could go as a human cullender.

James Lewis, the prime suspect in the 1982 Chicago Tylenol murders, has died at 76. He spent 12 years in prison for attempting to extort $1 million from Johnson & Johnson in order to stop the killings, but he was never convicted of the murders themselves.

I can't be the only person who found the drama on Benjamin Field's murdering of Peter Farquar grim but riveting viewing. Serial liar who defended himself by admitting he drugged and manipulated his victim, he just stopped short of killing him (the jury didn't believe him and two unsuccessful appeals against the verdict have followed). Also took intimate photos of another woman, who was 83 and was briefly his girlfriend. Whether the television drama makes Ben (inside until 2055) or his acquitted but alleged sidekick Martyn Smith a greater target is anyone's guess. Smith's subsequent life included counselling but I'm guessing someone likely knows where he is, and he didn't come out of the drama that well.
