So there it is.

At the moment Mono is in the lead.

Saturday at midnight GMT all right as a deadline?

Are you allowed to vote for yourself Mono?

I've only just realised a poll has been added. It was a tough call, Portsmouth and Brussels, a poem after my heart there I feel or was it coincidence? However I'm afraid in true DL style I felt it only apt to vote for my favourite poster of all time, guesty.

Who else but Mono could have inspired Portsmouth and Brussels?

However, after updating the poem today to reflect the death of Claude, I realized it suffered from, among other things, a shocking lack of squid. Of course, A Childhood Trauma doesn't have them either....but those rhymes are tighter than a clam's arse at low tide. I still haven't decided between that one and the also squidless HCW entry.

Thanks for thinking about it. I think yours should win, sheer class.

So there you have it.

Yvonne wins, albeit without an absolute majority.

A number of coalitions would be possible, with or without Yvonne.

So irrefutable proof, if proof were so needed, that Yvonne can continue in her role here on the DL without criticism. Long may we have the pleasure of reading poems about dead animals and Patrick Swayze.

Congratulations.

 Congrats to Yvonne, but can someone check to see if there were several thousand Floridian votes not counted?

Surely someone, somewhere appreciates the fine art form of the clerihew? ;)

No, one of the votes for Madame D. came in after the deadline.

I certainly didn't fix the competition even if the number of votes cast doesn't tally with the number stated under the poll.

I also didn't vote for myself, so I'll agree something fishy must have happened.

I believe the software is at fault. It counts a null vote as a vote hence none of the polls tally as such.

... pardon the observation, but if you "dont read poetry" how can you prognose its well-being?

By the same token that I suspect Meg Ryan would be better than average for "special cuddles"
