OoO's Baby Spectacular Extravaganza

Recommended Posts

Ah, my dear Ali...

It might be that the doctors due date is wrong. Plus I was 15 days late myself. The maximum is now 14 in our area, but if the due date is right, then the 27th is the latest. But if it's wrong, it could be in April.... So it's up for grabs.

Mrs OoO (or rather, to be precise, Mrs OoO-to-be... shock *unmarried couple!*) is both pleased and a little disturbed. That's just by me, nothing to do with this thread....

When I get 5 minutes, I'll put the latest bets, unless someone kind & bored wants to do it first....

This day and age I recommend £37 down your local registry office - nip in the closest nice pub for a simple pub lunch. We ended up splashing out £8,200 for 56 places at a King Charles II hunting lodge "do" for no good reason. Nice, but a total waste of money.

Put me down for the 8th March (seeing as August is out of the question) at 8.08 weighing in at 8 lb 8 oz.

If it's a boy I'd suggest Callum Aries, if it's a girl then Sue Tin(t)a.

OK - I say March 15, 4:10pm (just because that's smack in between my two kids), 7# 15oz (just because that's how big my two kids were), 21" long (just because that's how long my two kids were), and OoO will ensure the boy (just because my two kids are boys) is immortal and will be the bane of Deathlisters everywhere by naming him Clive Dunn OoO.

Thanks LG & yes it looks good on the reply - maybe it needs to be in the code box but I don't really know all these things brilliantly.

It was 7lbs 8 oz I think I said up the top, somewhere.

I also see Banshees has gone for the 22nd March on the DDP '10 thread.

I think it would be unfair to say a name, so I'll bet on (knowing I will lose), the name I wanted to call it if it lived in a world where it wouldn't get mocked...

Mrs Rotten thinks Stevie would be a nice fit - both football wise (Stevie Coppell) and as a used for a girl's name (Stevie Nicks) or as a boy's name (Stevie Wonder).

An artist's impression of the delivery waiting room on the anointed day. You look so proud, OoO, with that cheeky toothy grin. :-)

Stevie of Odstock sounds a bit silly.

Edwin of Odstock has a certain nobility to it, don't you think?

I'll go for Oedipus, Orpheus or Odysseus. But if it's a boy, I have no idea.

Can I change the name I guessed? I was only joking with Windsor.

I think if it is a boy, he will be called Charlie Gordon.

Well, it's looking good for TMIB, Honez, Rotten Ali and Abysmal Granite.

Mrs OoO-to-be will be induced on the 1st March - all is okay, but she has Gestational Diabetes, so it will be "produced" earlier than normal.

March 1st is my birthday, so I am still hoping it will be then, but I would reckon TMIB is the closest to when it will actually come out.

So in about 2 weeks I will have news.....

I was induced with the littlest - not for a medical problem, simply because the lazy little cow was already over two weeks late and I was the size of a small hamlet in Lincolnshire. She's nearly 13 now, still can't get her out of bed in the mornings.

If Mrs OoO would like to hear my induction horror story, I would be more than happy to pass on a few tips

But seriously folks, good luck, I hope everything goes swimmingly :)

Yes, induction is massively fun. BAM! Instant third stage labor. My induced one is now 19 but I still have twinges - and that's all I'll say about that (at least for now).

Natural Milk! That's another thing - you may not be able to get baby going on the breast so well what with a early delivery. My advice, keep at it. It may come it time - but don't fight shy of co-opting the bottle milk to help out from the start. Mrs Rotten and the little rotter were in right state (her with nasty nips and him with journdis) because of a two-week early situation.

Pah! You were all wrong (and so were we!)

Amy (Mrs OoO to be) went into labour this morning, and gave birth to a little girl, Isabelle Maisie at 14.06 (20th February). 6lbs 1 oz. Shares her birthday with Enzo Ferrari and Jimmy Greaves, that'll do me fine.

Baby & mother absolutely fine, sleeping fine. Dad shattered - just got back. Bloody Facebook is down so I can't update that.

Complete surprise to us all this early, but all good. Now if you don't hear from me for 6 months, don't be offended.

Congratulations OoO and Amy!!!! :) Lovely name too OoO. Hope mum isn't too tired and all went well. Nice to get some good news and I wish you and your new family all the best. I'm not often up at this time but toothache has kept me awake, really glad I did check in here now. I reckon Abysmal Granite wins for guessing the nearest date and the right sex. Don't worry about FB, it's been acting up all day, it can wait. Congratulations again, so pleased for you  .

P.S. Does this mean that LB and CA can now reveal their stories of being induced? My mum was induced with me and she has never let me forget it!
