Death certificate shows he died on 10 May. Must have been one of the most-delayed deaths ever reported on this site, especially for one of the 50.

Presumably cremation has taken place by now.

Leah Bracknell's death was quite delayed in 2019: happened 15th September, not announced until 16th October.

Based on this, hard to say. Perhaps if he killed the twat 50 years ago.

Mm, even with the advanced age and neck cancer I still worried he'd somehow manage to cling on. A very dumb and unfounded worry but still

For a long time, we didn't even know when it happened.

I'd say its karma. Those last 10 years of his life were the most miserable years. He spent half of those years behind bars and the other half living on the outside while being one of the most hated people in the UK. People would probably glare at him whenever they saw him in the street, if not worse. Evidently, it lead to the point where he only left the house to go into his back garden (according to his neighbours) as that'd be the only place he could go outside and not be reminded that he was a monster.

On top of that, he died slowly and painfully from neck cancer - while he also watched his wife get sicker and sicker till she was bedridden like him. The press said he couldn't eat anymore so he likely had tubes going in and out of him everywhere. And I think he was conscious through all of it, he was mentally there to bare through all the suffering of his final moments.

A quick and easy death would've been too good for him.

From the front page obit, very rare humor from their obits:

In the later parts of career, rumours had started to spread that Harris had a dark secret. It started to become clear that the clues had been there for years and then people started to come forward to substantiate the claims. Finally, it was revealed that Harris was indeed an Australian…

Sport throw a decent pun in, again - oh aye, and does Bob Mortimer need his own thread (personally I doubt it!):

Think I said this before but my Grandmother lived near Rolf at one point and knew him socially albeit loosely and always said she found him creepy and unnerving to be around.By the time of his trial and conviction she was in the final stages of dementia so never knew how right her interpretation of him was.

Sometimes this is a major blessing - elsewhere on DL there was a recent discussion that boxer Joe Bugner thinks he's 38 and his missus Marlene (who is dead) has just gone out to the shops.
