Fort William's rival for the wooden spoon, Strathspey, play their last match on Saturday at 15:00, coincidentally also at home to Nairn County.

17 Strathspey Thistle

33 2 1 13 22 58 0 3 14 14 70 -92 10

18 Fort William

33 2 1 13 17 49 0 2 15 18 96 -110 9

If Strathspey have already played their last game, Why are they on the same amount of games played as FW?

Both the bottom teams face a final fixture against mid-table Nairn County, though I've noticed Fort's early and late season form always seems better. Do they take on better players who do summer jobs in the area, or summat? If so, GO FORT, second bottom is victory!

17 Strathspey Thistle 34 2 1 14 22 61 0 3 14 14 70 -95 10

Indeed, a goal deficit tally in DOUBLE figures next season, now that would be sweet.

Former Fort player Simon Shields has died from lung cancer aged 23.

He'd signed for local team Clachnacuddin last summer after 2 1/2 years with Fort William.

I wonder how much it would cost for the team to sport the gentleman in the topper on the front of their jerseys for a season or two?

In action tonight in the North of Scotland cup against Forres. Score so for isn't looking good. Getting humped 2-1. Not long until the final whistle now.

Final score Fort William 3 Forres 4. It's going to be a long season. :(

Lost by the odd goal in three, having gone down to ten men in the 48th minute.

But...Brora and Strathspey took 3-0 pastings, so they're below Fort on goal difference!!

Fort William 0 Buckie Thistle 6

Guess no fightback then. Bottom of the league now, goals for = 1 goals against = 18

This stunning shot, truly reflecting the magnificence of Brora's majestic home, will help us imagine we are there.

Speaking of meeting up at matches on the fringes of the football radar. It is just possible I'll be "working," i.e. writing about, one of the strangest encounters this season as Bishop's Stortford host Workington in the NORTHERN half of the 6th tier. Given the round trip of over 600 miles my interest is mainly in how many Wukkie fans make it on 21 Jan 2012. Likely to be shit weather, shit game at the bottom of the table and virtually no fans for the away team. Unless any DL'ers fancy this great day out! If they do, Wukkie play in red!
