Good find Ulitzer but that doesn't include the Axis crews.

And they should count as survivors.

Last Of The Mohicans, I beg you.  We don't get too many opportunities.

Nah, still some of the Wehrmacht/SS around.

Last of one side not count.

The surviving few

As I read it they've specified aircraft flown where they know (which is in most cases), so are we down to literally no surviving Spitfire pilots from the Battle of Britain?

There's a name SirC dusted off about 2 months ago and now it's popping up here and there.  Too low hanging fruit for DDP purposes, but probably some more scrambling for a few teams in each of the DPs out there.

This death was at the beginning of this year. I don't think she was mentioned on this forum when she died but everyone knows her. I'm talking about Naomi Parker. She modeled for a poster that is worldwide recognized as a symbol for women all over the world that they can do things they thought were not for them to do. I'm talking about this one.

https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naomi_Parker#/media/File:We_Can_Do_It!.jpg[/img]

Naomi Parker died January 20th 2018 at the age of 96. And as a WW2 symbol I'll include her in the Veterans section. She did her part for the cause.

The ever dependable @YoungWillz mentioned her:

I thought I removed all traces of it. I saw my mistake and deleted the post. But somehow something still stuck.

I recall she was a pick for Death Impends in the Hare's Pool either last year, this year or both. Anyway, the name stuck and when she copped it, an obvious post.

I remember it being posted because about that time I was on my way to the library and someone had the poster in their front room window.

I remember it being posted because it was or would be followed up by ANOTHER 'Rosie the Riveter' dying, and Sir Creep's tiny mind was befuddled, and it inspired a discussion on these very threads (I thought) about how Rosie the Riveter was an image moreso than a person and so there were many not one.  Perhaps this discussion happened in my home DP page instead.  'twas one or the other.

Bob Barger, a World War II veteran who received his college diploma last spring based on classroom time completed seven decades earlier, has died.  He was 97.  More of a human interest story than one related to his WWII service.

Millicent Young, a member of the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs), an organization that flew bombers and other warplanes, has died.  She was 96. Young was one of fewer than 30 of the 1,000 women chosen for the job to still be alive.
