Deathlist Under 45

Whatever happened to Amanda Bynes is she still on drugs

This ain't a chat room, mate.

Feel free to do so in the 'Possibilities' thread. Presumably maybe and no seasoned vet is going to take a flyer on her just cuz she visits rehab every 18 months. Well someone might but sure as hell not me. I actually did two years ago, proving I was a novice rookie.

In 2016 I might clamp down on tautology.

Don't really know where the best place for this is, but might have been useful if we'd known about it earlier.

Fears grow for former EastEnders actor missing with two sons

Sian Blake, 43, who played Frankie Pierre in the soap in the mid-90s, disappeared last month from Erith, south-east London, with her children Zachary, eight, and Amon, four. She was last seen on 13 December around Waltham Forest, east London, and is believed to still be in the capital ....

.... Blake is reported to have been battling motor neurone disease. One of her neighbours, Sandra Metzgen, told the Sun: “Sian has motor neurone disease and I think it has got worse. A few Sundays ago she came down the steps to her house and said she wasn’t too good. An ambulance has been called out a couple of times too.

“When I last saw her she said the doctors didn’t think she was going to get better and it sounded like she didn’t have very long left. No one knows where she is. She was looking very thin and frail and I think her mum was worried about that.

Steve Gohouri, footballer who played for Ivory Coast and various European teams (and the mighty Wigan Athletic) and who went missing in late December 2015, has been found dead at the age of 34. https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mopo.de%2Fsport%2Ffussball%2Ftraurige-gewissheit-ex-gladbach-profi-steve-gohouri---34--ist-tot-23251860&edit-text=

Here's the BBC story on him going missing; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35136237. Might get a BBC obit, dunno if anyone was brave enough to pick him.

Assuming he died in December, would he score any points for teams that picked him for 2016? What about if it's unclear which year he died?

Looks like Andres has missed his final gate at 31.

Venezuelan international show jumper Andres Rodriguez has been killed in a car crash, along with his passenger Sophie Walker at the Palm Beach Polo and Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida. Rodriguez has represented his country at WEG 2014 and also at CSIO Barcelona in 2015 and was aiming for Rio 2016. He was the silver medallist at the last Pan American Games in Canada. The local investigators have said that it appears Rodriguez Porche took a bend too fast and lost control. They have not yet established the reason for this. Walker was killed at the scene and Rodriguez died in hospital a few hours later.

'Show jumping' wtf I almost put this in Silly Sports but since obits aren't part of that thread I let it go.

It's time to get this thread to page 14. Too much cheesy jokes for one page.

Russian chess grandmaster Ivan Bukavshin died aged 20 a few days ago while I was away from the internet.

Ahh, Russia. A place where 20 year olds have strokes.

It did not escape our attention. I suspect wodka was involved in his untimely death.

Only from fahkin NZ could this story develop. I almost thought it was fake. I still do. They can't be serious.

There was a time when you chided me for marginally relevant obits. I had prepared to post the obit of a locally famous english barber, but then things settled down.

New Orleans Pelicans guard Bryce Dejean-Jones has died, according to reports based on information from the Dallas County Coroner's Office in Texas. Jones was 23 years old. His death was reported by Travis Hines, a sports reporter with the Ames Tribune in Iowa. He reports that the coroner's office confirmed the death, but the cause of death was not released.

No, sheep shearing championships are real. There is even an Australian folk song about a fast shearer. Here is a version of it by Rolf with explanatory notes to torture yourself with:

Vanderbilt University pitcher Donny Everett, 19, drowned at Normandy Lake in Coffee County on Thursday night. According to a report from the Coffee County Sheriffs Department, he tried to swim across the lake while fishing with two friends as well as two Vanderbilt teammates,

As most are unaware, this was the night before the NCAA baseball playoffs, like the 65 basketball team March Madness. So it's timing is awful to say the least.

He was given his own thread, post mortem mind (I don't understand this new trend--but whatever). Just an FYI these aren't all-inclusive threads, it's kinda whoever is first to post decides where they go and that's it. IOW a 40-yr old Estonian gay polician wouldn't get listed in four threads (5 if we include Dead of 2016), though that kinda BS has happened on a rare occasion.

I think deaths should be mentioned in all relevant threads. It makes the threads more comprehensive for anyone who is following a particular interest.
