THE INAUGURAL INVERSE DEAD POOL

ja-rule.jpg

Hello there! I'm forgotten rapper Ja Rule, you may remember me from that song where I shouted "WE LIVIN IT UP" over and over again. Well, thanks to improved diet and Barack HUSSEIN Obama's socialist Obamacare programme, celebrities are indeed "livin' it up" more and more, some of them even reaching into the 100s.

This can be tricky for a deadpooler, as in order to gain points in this sport, traditionally you've needed people to die. Well... not anymore.

Below are the 51 most picked, still alive as of January 17, 2011 celebrities on this year's DerbyDeadPool. All you need to do are pick the 25 you feel are most likely to see out 2011, ranking them from 1 to 25. Everyone starts at 0 points. If your #1 pick dies before January 1st, 2012, you lose 25 points. Your #2 pick, 24 points, and so on and so forth. The person with the score closest to zero at the end of the year wins, and let me tell you I know all about winning, as I took home the Source Magazine 2004 "Phat Tape Song of the Year" award for "Clap Back".

I know the last thing this sub-forum needs is yet another dead pool variant, but I always thought if I had absolutely any aptitude for chess at all I'd much prefer to play suicide chess than the standard variant. So the idea I had was....

When the full DDP picks are announced in the next couple of weeks, I post up the 50 most common selections for 2011, minus anyone who carks it before, say, mid-January. The rules are simple, each player picks the 25 of those celebs they feel are most likely to see out 2011, ranking them from 1 to 25. Everyone starts at 0 points. If your #1 pick dies before January 1st, 2012, you lose 25 points. Your #2 pick, 24 points, and so on and so forth. The person with the score closest to zero at the end of the year wins.

Any interest whatsoever?

I like it!

I'll give you a hand if you want to count and sort the 50 top picks - we can feed that back to TMIB's inaine analysis.

I'm a sucker for dead pools, especially when someone else organises them. I'll give this a gan.

As I run the Stupid Questions League sub-forum elsewhere, or do a lot in the running, if it's just an "enter and some other sucker sorts it out" thing, yeah, I'm game.

OK. We'll see if I can pick the survivors on purpose. It's pretty much what I've been doing at Hartlepool for the last two years without even trying. :burnash:

Seven entries so far, quite pleased with that. Remember you gotta be in it to win it.

13 entries in so far, plus one that needs rework. This means I'm gonna have to keep this thread updated throughout the year, rather than just casually forget about it after two weeks. Damn.

Fed the entries so far into the spreadsheet, four celebs remain unpicked, while two have been picked on every entry so far.
