Dilip Kumar is very weak according to his wife. Still, he is not bedridden as he walks a few steps once in a while.

Definitely should be seriously considered going forward by deadpoolers. Lata is the Joan Fontaine  of her sister rivalry with Asha Bhosle and will be the one to die first.

I've been reading about the remarkable Mangeshkars, the royal family of playback All five still alive - Lata (91),  Meena (89), Asha (87),  Usha (85) and Hridaynath (83).

I don't think Asha and Lata were/are quite at the bitterness level of Joan/Olivia though.

Stumbled upon this list of 70+ bollywood stars. I'll list the 85+ ones here:

Dilip Kumar (1922-2021) The ancient immortal.

Chandrashekhar (1923?-2021) According to the article born 1922, according to wikipedia born 1923. Looks horrible.

Mumtaz Begum (1923-possibly 2002/2004) Can't find new pictures of her. Not a lot of stuff about her out there, is she even still alive? Updated, should be dead.

Kamini Kaushal (b. 1924? 1927?) Indian sources and imdb say 1927, wikipedia says 1924. Dilip Kumar's crush a long time ago. Ill in 2021 and probably unable to talk nowadays.

Ramesh Deo (1926?/1929?-2022) Again, Indian sources and imdb say he's younger. Out of the ones born in 1920s, will he be the last? Looked amazing in 2020. Died from a heart attack on the 2nd of February 2022.

Lata Mangeshkar (1929-2022) Playback singer. Looks nearly as ancient as Dilip. Mentioned in the post above. Circling the drain for years, as of 14 January 2022 hospitalised with covid and pneumonia. Died on the 6th of February 2022.

Rajkumar Kohli (1930-2023) Director. Retired in 2002 after releasing a movie that copied scenes from Terminator and Mission Impossible. Lost his son in 2021.

Kalpana Kartik (b. 1931) Not many new pictures of her exist, lives a silent life and "devours ancient books"

Anandji Virji Shah (b. 1933) Music Director, seems to be in good shape. Lost his daughter in 2021.

Asha Bhosle (b. 1933) Another playback singer, mentioned in the post above. Said that she "isn't too well" in January 2022.

Madhu/Madhavan Nair (b. 1933) Reminds me of Bud Spencer. In a good shape? Atleast he can still stand and walk. Looked great on his 88th birthday, hasn't lost weight at all.

Gulzar (b. 1929/1934) Director, some sources claim he was born in 1929, most say he was born in 1934. Probably 1934. Seems to be in good health.

Achyut Potdar (b. 1934) Longtime actor still working. Walks with a cane.

Shyam Benegal (b. 1934) Director, critic of modern bollywood.

Supriya Devi (1933/1935-2018) Suprise! She died in January 2018.

Ravi Tandon (1935-2022) Director, in a good shape apparently. Died on the 11th of February 2022.

Prem Chopra (b. 1935) Chopra was often in villain roles.

Salim Khan (b. 1935) Healthy, walks a lot.

Dharmendra (b. 1935) Frail. Or not. Apparently still works out.

Mumtaz Begum (b. 1923) Can't find new pictures of her.

After the deaths of Kumar and Chandrashekhar who looked horrible for the last ten years, the oldest Bollywood star is (probably) Mumtaz Begum.

Much less known than Kumar or Chandrashekhar but she does have 147 imdb credits. Most of her roles were "mother" (starting from 1950) and "grandmother" (from 1976) roles. Last credit is from 1998 and I haven't found any new pictures of her. Could very well be alive but I'd say that there's a chance she has died off radar.

Yes, I read that some days ago. Doctors said she was "much better" and "out of danger", whilw her daughter simply said she wasn't well. Now you know who was right. Coincidentally Indian composer Khayyam was in a nearby hospital with lung infection, and his wife Jagjit Kaur, a noted singer, was hospitalized too (she is expected to be discharged by Monday). Though Khayyam was said to be "on the road to recovery" it seems it has now taken a turn for the worse; mind, he has been in a semicomatose state for weeks.

I saw the news of him being hospitalised today. Really suprising, didn't think he'd die.

Was also the son of legendary bollywood actor/singer Dr. Rajkumar (1929-2006)

Technically this isn't Bollywood as Bollywood refers to the Hindi film industry and these are from the Kannada film industry. But, tomatoes, potatoes.

I can't remember which thread was for lists of people mentioned in songs, so I'll shoehorn this in here: weird how nobody namechecked in "Brimful of Asha" has died since the song's release in 1997:

Asha Bhosle: born 1933

Mohammed Rafi: died 1980

Lata Mangeshkar: born 1929

Jacques Dutronc: born 1943

Marc Bolan: died 1977

Govind Arun Ahuja ("the Chichi music"): Born 1963
