Starting to look like Paul Ritter did before he went.

Ukrainian born British journo Greg Miskiw, co-ordinator of the Fake Sheikh and involved heavily in the phone hacking scandals at the News Of The World, dead at 71: https://pressgazette.co.uk/greg-miskiw-dies-71-phone-hacking-news-of-the-world/

Set out to destroy people's lives - I'd suggest not just the rich and famous.

Deborah James, who I am salvaging from the OFFBI thread given she is a journalist and was pre-illness so let's not jump the shark. Anyhow, her cancer has started spreading again , and last week she had to have emergency surgery after suffering liver failure, and her medication started to fail. She now has cancer in the liver, guts, lungs and bones.

And Deborah James has a reportedly wild 40th birthday party: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-10057553/BBC-podcast-presenter-Deborah-James-incurable-cancer-celebrates-40th.html

If anything @gcreptile for the DDP this would confirm a date of birth of 1 October 1981 for Deborah James.

Top marks for using the correct thread.

Although I think she had more interviews for reaching 40 than even Captain Tom did!

Scottish journalist Ally McLaws had problems with his treatment which had been working well so far. They now have to set him up on a different treatment.

Journalist Ally McLaws treatment was going well in September, after the cancer spread to his brain and he became wheelchair bound, but since then he had a reaction to chemo, caught a lung infection and is now in hospital with covid. Which is bit of a downturn.

Reports coming in that Ally McLaws has died.

I'll look into that.

Edit: Just the one source on Twits, FB may have more if anyone is on that platform:

If so, a boost to my team but a shame as he seemed a decent chap. The Evening Times was always a pretty good paper when he ran it back in the 90s too.

His friends are posting it on Facebook btw, it appears to be true. The covid was just a bridge too far, I guess.
