Comedians & Comedy Writers

Bit of a surprise, Drop 40 cert had he announced imo. One of those familiar faces. Also unlike so many modern comics (Michael McIntyre can be singled out), he seemed effortlessly witty.

Apparently we all missed this tweet he subsequently tried to row back from? Then left twitter...

Sadly that tweet would be 3 days too late for inclusion.

:o RIP to a very funny man.  I had no idea he was ill. Radio 4 won't be the same without him.

Damn shame.  If only for Roxanne.

"Comedian's comedian" (as in he had no commercial appeal) Ian Cognito Tommy Coopers on stage.

Duncan Norvelle, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-18455361, best known for... well, I don't know really but I've heard of him anyway, has been in hospital for two months after a stroke

Duncan Norvelle appeared on the BBC's Pointless Celebrities this evening.

He's a unique pick by Unusual Suspects in this year's DDP.

I saw that too @Cat O'Falk.

If he makes it, he'll be a regular on my Comedy Theme Team from next year.

Not because he looks ill, but because he looks ill and has been on Pointless Celebrities. Kiss of death, that double!

How's Martina McClutcheson doing? I had hoped she was getting back into gear since her bankruptcy, but her career seems to have stalled.

That new ITV The Comedy Years is on Episode 3, but watching Episode 1 there and noted some aging comics and comedy writers showing up. James Bolams aged a fair bit since his Cbeebies run a few years ago, and Eric Chappell (writer of Rising Damp for the non-Willz's out there) looked ready to keel over at any moment. Also pictured are Cannon and Ball, and Bernie Clifton.

Is that Mick Miller at the top?

Certainly looks like him.

Someone else took Chappell this year, dropped him. Now he'll have to wrestle Duncan Norvelle to replace Windsor Davies on my team for next year. Subject always to the survival of my remaining contenders....;)

Well if you pick him next year he will lose his eligibility for Unusual Suspects 2021 so here's hoping death will chase him and catch him this year

I wouldn't have thought he'll be in any danger imminently, but comedian & Chaser Paul Sinha has Parkinson's Disease

Larry Siegel, the head writer for the Carol Burnett Show and a Mad Magazine writer, has died.  He was 93.  So far, the only confirmation is a Facebook post by one of his kids.
