Please don't say "dead".... I hate the word "dead"... Just say "no longer alive"... I can't say "rest in peace" because he's still alive in my mind... He's a legend... and..... LEGENDS NEVER DIE!!!!!

Since this is the Death List site, I would like to see a ban on all the twee euphemisms like "passed".

Dead, died, death.  We are grown ups and shouldn't be afraid of these words.

I don't mind the more jocular ones once in a while, eg fell off the perch, kicked the bucket etc.  The ones that you don't imagine being said in a hushed tone.

Ban those words too and we have to coin new terms, or else rename this site to something like DeceasedList, DemiseList, or KillList. Also, what about DeathHoaxList?

À lot of death this Time, among centenarians and well known figures as Mubarak. I think that 2020 can be a refreshing year (i Mean well known dl picks like Nobby Stiles or JPDC can pass away suddenly) and leave us with only a few lingerers and a lot of new interesting faces. We’ll see

Well, fine, that's it. I still consider him as not dead, because he's now more alive than ever. He'll never rest in peace even after now.

No more, ceased to be, expired and gone to meet his maker. Ran up the curtain and joined the choir invisible...

No he is not. He is just resting. Tired out after a long squawk I should think.

Those phrases, with others, are always used in the past tense. The present tense is rarely used here.

I meant, of course

"Dead, died, death.  We are grown ups and shouldn't be afraid of these words."

Reminds me of my gran at a funeral once.

"Sorry to hear (X) slipped away" said an old dear.

"Well you better go catch him then!" said my Gran quick as a flash.

And it was her sister's funeral!
