Quite a big one this - Faith Thomas, who played one Test for Australia in 1958. Doesn't sound much of a career, but one of just four players (two men, two women) of indigenous background to wear the 'baggy green.' Most recent was Scott Boland who destroyed England in Oz about 16 months ago.

As a postscript, there's also nine Australian Test cricketers from the 1950s still alive:

Gordon Rorke, Keith Slater, Bobby Simpson, Ian Meckiff, Gavin Stevens, John Rutherford, Alan Davidson, Neil Harvey and Ken Archer.

Simpson, Davidson and Harvey are the biggest names on that list.

Ken Archer reportedly dead: https://www.cricket.com.au/news/ken-archer-dies-australia-test-cricketer-oldest-male-queensland-captain-neil-harvey/2023-04-18

On a whim, having never heard it, I bought the record of the 1984 West Indies touring squad 'West Indians are back in town' when I saw it in Our Price that year. The B side, 'Skipper Lloyd (Have Mercy)' is credited to 'lead vocal: Thelston Payne.'

Finally, a record of mine that isn't on Youtube. I'm not going to remind myself how it went, though.

Edit: so it is, not the flip, though.

That's Steve Waugh in the photo not Brian Booth
