He was great, one of those few actors who always manage to make people laugh, even with poor material.

Not sure whether this should go in the rabbis thread, but Claude Giraud who co-starred with Louis de Funes in The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob is dead. He was also a prolific French voice for among others, Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Sean Connery in Name of The Rose, Roger Moore in Bullseye, Robert Redford in The Great Gatsby and Alan Rickman in Harry Potter and the innumerable sequels.

Ah, would have been picked by me in a lot more next year.

No sign of a Qobit -  I'll put him on the missing list until you find one! ;)

I think it’s worth mentioning that last September, the legendary French actor François Lalande died aged 89. He appeared in Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo, The Gang and The Visitors.

I had been looking for his date of birth for a long time but it was only revealed publicly after his death.

Sven Wollter dead at 86 from COVID.

Decided to put this on this thread instead of the covid casualties as he was a very known actor and one of the four alive main actors in the Beck movie Man on the Roof (1976) known to very many in the nordic countries. Haven't watched it myself but I've seen other later Martin Beck movies. He was Lennart Kollberg.

Now there are three:

Thomas Hellberg (b. 1941) as Gunvald

Ingvar Hirdwall (b. 1934) as the Man on the Roof.

Harald Hamrell (b. 1960) as Stig Nyman's son

https://m.lenta.ru/news/2020/11/14/djgarhanyan/amp/. Legendary Armenian-Russian actor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan has died at age of 85. He was my pick in Doug Stanhope Deadpool, AO DP and a few other pools.

Indeed, a pretty big name. He had health issues in the past, documented on here, too. Someone I would like to have picked somewhere.

Without even looking, I have a worrying feeling you have him in the Hares pool. If you did, he is going to be called Armen D.

Khalil el-Moumni dead at 79, good riddance

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalil_el-Moumni

Moroccan imam in Netherlands who was known for hating homosexuals. Had an open conflict with populistic politician Pim Fortuyn (1948-2002) once.

Another useful application of COVID.

This would've been more apt in the Dying Bigots thread.

El-Moumni-200.jpg-redirected.jpg.ffea039b16361ea65babab88df879f67.jpg

"If the sickness of homosexuality spreads itself, everyone can become infected".

And he did get infected, by an actual virus, and it killed him. Lolz.
 :P

Speaking of old bigoted Islamists, a reminder that theologian and bezzie of Red Ken Livingstone, Yusuf al-Qaradawi (wiki) is still alive and turning 95 next year.

100% chance of a qualifying obit.

Yes, quite sad. I didn't realize until recently how much I actually liked him. He was a very anarchic comedian.
