Who Should Be on the 2012 DeathList?

Recommended Posts

Time to bring back George Cole for a second Deathlist appearance.

And, for another St Trinian's alumni, Dora Bryan.

Here are my suggestions for the 2012 list:

Gary Carter

Sparky Anderson one of the top 3 or so baseball manager of the last 40 years did not get a UK Obit. Carters chances are likely slimmer then his even.

Time to finally put Johannes Heesters on the list. There's a good chance he'll be the first hit of 2012

I hope the committee aren't that desperate.

If they must go for a centenarian, they should go for Sir Nicholas Winton who turns 103 in May. He is also more likely to get an obit.

We should also think about who we're going to drop.

-Nancy Reagan

-Fergie Frederiksen

-Pierre Cardin

-Harlan Ellison

-Dick Cheney

-Aretha Franklin

-Ali Khamenei

-John Edrich

Can all be expected to live another year.

Peregrine Worsthorne, Shaw Taylor, Bill Kerr, Christopher Lee, Edna Dore, Liz Smith, Clifton James, Patrick Moore, Jimmy Young, and Mike Wallace all seriously worth consideration I'd say

Somewere deep inside me I am still hoping that a Dutch man or woman will find his or her way onto the 2012 DeathList....

But let's face it that will NEVER happen.... The only elderly Dutchman i can think of who could pass the fame requirements of the DeathList is Miffy-creator Dick Bruna... and with him being only 84 and there being no news about his health, the DL-comittee will never pick him....

Talking about illustrators (sort of).... Just out of curiousity, Isn't Spider-man creator Stan Lee nearing 90...

I am also wondering... Would 91-year old Special-Effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen be considered to obscure for DeathList?

I would have thought he was far from obscure, a very great tallent and justifiably famous for it.

Best regards

Syd

Not at all sure about Roger Moore, still sounded robust enough interviewed by Johnny Walker last week and still working for UNICEF. Granted the man is 84, and that isn't good. But I think the first Bond to go will be Connery or, maybe, Lazonby. One has had serious health problems, the other has been a heavy drinker.

Don't forget Bob Holness, played him on the radio, hardly in the rudest of health these days...

.....or maybe Muhammad Ali. I think he's near the end.

Would be a rather sad addition. but I have to agree, Ali the great has to be a contender

Dave Whelan the owner of Wigan Athletic and former owner of the Wigan Warriors rugby team. Is there a reason (apart from he is now 75 years old) he is handing over the ownershyip of the club to his grandson ?

Is that through Ali being interviewed by him too many times?

what about people like Carl Reiner, Joan Rivers, Ed Asner, Warren Beatty, & Dick Van Dyke? they were all born in either the 20's or 30's, I believe.

Wouldn't bother with Beatty, he's only 75 in March, still active and his bed-hopping years seem to be well behind him. The others are all worthy of consideration, especially Reiner

I would hope Al-Megrahi may make a reappearance...and perhaps Doris Day.

I think Doris Day might be a bit hard up for cash, as her most recent album is a compilation of unreleased stuff.

If they can put Brooke Astor on the list, they can put Johannes Heesters on it.
