Ideas And Possibilities For 2013

in america, leading politicians who are elderly are being admitted to hopsitals for non-specific reasons and many think they are actually on the verge of death. these include george h. w. bush, bob dole, and daniel inouye. in the case of dole, he made a recent public appearance in support of a senate bill and it was characterized as him "leaving his deathbed" despite the fact that it was not the characterization of his hospital stay previously. this makes it seem like it is understood by all involved that he is near death but they are being polite to not characterize it as such.

nelson mandela is in the same situation. i'd say all four are good 2013 picks along with basher assad.

Throw in Lindsay Lohan for the fun of it... She'll probably die of a drug overdose.

With the recent deaths of Messrs Sykes and Dunn, the list is looking very short of comic actors. What about Warren "Alf Garnett" Mitchell replacing Dunn? He's similar to Dunn in many ways as both played much older men in the 60s and 70s, both played reactionaries but in reality are/were big socialists.

While right now I don't think this person would get a UK Obit ,LA Graffiti Artist Tempt One who has had ALS since 2003 had a documentary released about him win at the Slamdace film festival earlier this year . Apparently this thing is on the shelf for legal reasons since it has used clips from another Doc called Graffiti Verite. When/if this get's released it might marginally be enough to qualify him for an obit.

Article linked below is getting old now but has a list of the highest profile surviving (in 2010) allied air aces of WW2. Found it by chance because I was looking for some online confirmation of a story I heard that Jimmy Corbin (towards the bottom of the article) died earlier this week.

Edit, just saw summat about Corbin's death on TV.

Now then, this stuff about Tolimir. Been looking at transcripts of the pre-trial. In June the subject of his health was discussed at length, but from his own side he even said that...

Sentenced to life.

regards,

Hein

Thanks for that. Took some time to find him guilty. He looks well at the moment so I can't invest any more entries with him for now.

According to a headline I just read online the police have foiled a plot to castrate Justin Bieber.

The question we've got to ask is...why?

In terms of deathlist/ dead pool possibilities at this crucial time of year, this is positively whoring yourself...

Be wary, mind, there's a record (no pun intended) of Christmas heartbreak stories that come to nowt in terms of coverage when the person in question dies. Rachel Jones a few years ago, terminally ill cancer mum, two pages to herself in the Daily Mail etc, died months later and didn't merit a points-scoring article/obit anywhere.

Yes, it seems to be a bit of a theme. Dying makes news but death doesn't unless you're famous...

I think because of all the singing stuff she'll probably get an obituary, but it says she's been receiving treatment for six years so not necessarily that likely to die next year

The important part of the article is she has stopped treatment........

That's effectively the same.

I feel that the obit's a shoe in if she gets the #1. If she doesn't, I still feel she's more interesting a story than the typical terminally ill moms (the article even calls her "terminally ill singer" rather than "terminally ill mother" even though I assume that this is the first notable singing she's really done) so it's enough for me to have her on my roster.

Not heard much from Patricia Routledge lately, but maybe at a comparatively sprightly 83 she may not be ready to "kick the bouquet" just yet....

BBC Online staff are having a drill for the announcement of Prince Philip's death on Tuesday. Whether because he's weakening, or they want to be ready for Maggie/Nelson carking it, idk.
