NDA's are a thing and also patient confidentiality.

I work as a hospital and just to get the job after the interview spent two months waiting for my paperwork etc to go through. So unless you don't want a career in nursing/healthcare anymore, then you don't discuss your patients.

Blimey, what one of your entrances do they bring the patients into then?

I didn't mean postings like

"Hi, I'm nurse XX from the nursing service YY. Jack Nicholson is one of our patients and all the nurses hate him, because he always asks them if they have their period & complains about the food."

or

"Hi, I'm Cary Grant's butler. I was hiding in the closet & and you won't believe what I have seen."

I meant anonymous whistleblowers with postings that begin with

"Rumor has it"

"A little bird told me"

or "A friend of a friend, who is an insider, told me."

But what do I know? People may very well write similar things on this forum & the mods delete their postings for some reason.

We very rarely delete posts.

Some of us do try to heavily hint by saying things like "am told off the radar the Laird of Balgonie is in a bad way" or "A very well known historian is sadly quite ill these days and might be looking for some Divine rest soon (but I hope not)" or the like, for example. Phantom and OoO are quite good at this sort of thing.

I like these small rumour of the mill posts. Are they legit? Well, death is unpredictable. People can look very bad in years and survive while someone you'd never expect to pass already - well, passes.

Who's not to say that X is 'soon to be dead' because someone knows a bit. Yet, they can overcome it or information was vague.

BBC news this morning was in a different studio for some reason with speculation it was preping his death coverage - it's back now through.

Could be maintenance - royal practice normally on a sunday I believe.

You would have assume that all of the main news broadcasters are rehearsing like mad for THAT day, which is coming very soon.

They will know things we don't.

I occasionally work at a local BBC radio station, and everyone is super geared for Philip. Instructions pinned on walls, meetings etc.

Given the state of tabloids/media,  I find it very implausible that an acute illness could be kept quiet this long.  But stranger things have happened I suppose.

Is that because they've heard something specifically about him or is it something they do for any elderly famous person in frail health?

That's what I'm thinking. As death draw closer, surely they'll have everything ready to be the first to report it fully.

How long has that been the case? Just last couple of weeks or for the last year?

I reckon he will go next year, with him being annoyingly close to 100.

like Wouk, who was annoyingly close to 104. Men tend to die shortly before their birthdays, indeed

I say within a month he will be gone; The Queen will follow soon there after.

I say you'll be gone before either of them.

Queen will be around for some time, unless the coronavirus kills her off

Forth Bridge is trending on Twitter, and for a brief moment I thought it perhaps alluded to that Operation. Nah. Just the bridge’s birthday. Twitter never fails to disappoint.

In fact I think he is the oldest living of all the men  who have ever been on the deathlist. Correct me if I'm wrong! Olivia de Haviland is the oldest woman of course.
