Wonder is Boris' big lockdown breif on Monday just happens to scrap the limit on funeral attendants.....

He won`t scrap them but in light of this news and falling infection hospital and death rates he will loosen it with Philip in mind.30 mourners would only just include the Queen and his direct descendants and their spouses.

Does seem quick.

Does the next of kin have to formally identify the deceased in the event of a hospital death?

No.

Bear in mind though that Philip doesn't want a big funeral.

Didn't go in the front entrance either

Not unusual - Philip has in recent years used that entrance as well .

Even through she is vaccinated I doubt she will want 100 or more people at St George's chapel for the funeral.

Photo of Prince Charles after visiting Prince Philip, looking a bit teary. I think we will have hit No.5 soon, if it hasn't happened already...

'Sky News understands he travelled from Highgrove in Gloucestershire and was visiting as the Duke has been in hospital a little longer than expected.'

No but I would think they would want about 50 or slightly less people in Westminster Abbey. He has 4 children 8 grandchildren  (5 married) several great grandchildren now old enough to attend (Prince George Savannah and Isla Phillips) and quite a few other Royals like Duke and Duchess of Kent Prince and Princess Michael of Kent Princess Alexandra Princess Margarets Children and Grandchildren. That alone is about 30 without the Prime Minister and Carrie and any other close friends.

It wont be the Abbey - too big for a private cermeony. It be Windsor as that's where they both being buried.

Yep that and the fact Philip has said he doesn't want a bells and whistles ceremony. Will probably be similar enough to Margaret's ceremony

That still had about 300 people including tones of her 'friends'.

That’s were he is ended up. At St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

I think you are all reading too much into the visit. Could've been breaking the news about Mr and Mrs Hewitt.

Just spoken to my mum (care home nurse), and she's reckons they wouldn't be allowing visits unless it's end of life.

Probably right for ‘normal’ patients and it is sounding like the end is near but if they make exceptions for anyone it will be for the Royals so it is possible we are all reading too much into it. I think if he isn’t discharged from Hospital by Monday or Tuesday he is certainly a lot iller than they are letting on even if he lasts that long the next 48 to 72 hours could be crucial.

As for Charles visit been short if Phillip is close to the end is possible he is sleeping a lot or dosing in and out of consciousness  could be quite distressing and upsetting and there isn’t really a lot you can do understandable if Charles doesn’t stay long .

Knowing Phillip he will be out of Hospital soon and celebrating his 100th birthday in 110 days time though he is getting closer to the end, be amazed if he is still here at the beginning of 2022.

That picture of charles does look like it aint going well. But then again, seeing your father in the hospital isn't a very pleasant thing in the first place? He could've also just been scolded of course

Perhaps we are looking at this wrong. Charles was there for a short time because he was letting Philip know the Queen is dead!

The ultimate plot twist

He told him his will makes clear he isn't his father and his half-brother Andrew is heir to the throne?
