Gerry And Sylvia Anderson

Recommended Posts

Not a death sentence but Gerry Anderson has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's

I am surprised he and Sylvia don't have their own thread.

Diagnosed 18 months ago - he obviously forgot to tell us.

Well, anything could happen in the next half hour for Anderson from now on...

So he can't remember and his show is one you wouldn't want to remember.

I'm already forgetting .. perishing the thought of this.

There are some of the Thunderbirds voice cast still alive - Shane Rimmer (Scott), David Graham (Parker), Matt Zimmerman (Alan), Jeremy Wilkin (Virgil). And no doubt Joe 90, Stingray, Fireball XL-5 and Captain Scarlet actors too.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with the chance of a late shower.

Ah well, now he'll at least have forgotten the fiasco of the Thunderbirds movie

Francis Matthews has been on my DDP team for couple of years now.

I've a feeling he might be indestructible.

OOOH this is fun.

We seem to be snowballing to include all the peripheral Supermarianation hangers on.

I will raise again the question I previously included in the Australians thread.

How old is Don Spencer? - who sang the Fireball XL5 theme tune.

Join in everyone

Just seen Francis Matthews on stage this very evening, at a Film & TV Nostalgia gathering near Elstree (a superb evening!). Very frail and at times somewhat bewildered. Sad to say I think he'll be on my 2013 list, if he lasts that long...

I have always got Francis Matthews confused with Gerald Harper, as they resemble one another somewhat. Harper is still around too.

I'm certainly feeling a pang of sadness.

All those wasted hours as a kid watching Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5, Joe 90 etc

if you're a fan of the show, I highly recommended the stage production Thunderbirds F.A.B

RIP Gerry Anderson, sad times,I feel same as Phantom above, many happy hours as a kid watching Joe 90,Stingray,Fireball XL5,Thunderbirds and Space 1999.I didnt like Captain Scarlett as it scared the crap out of me,also too young to watch Twizzle but was aware of it as we had a 7 foot 8 inch long streak of piss history teacher at our school,Mr.Carter, who was nicknamed Twizzle due to his height.

I always preferred Captain Scarlet to Thunderbirds and Stingray actually, think cause it was so dark and sinister

You could recreate the series with his corpse. Just add some string.

Thunderbirds to return and actor David Graham (b. 1925) will return as the voice of Parker. The only original cast member to come back.

For Doctor Who fans this is the guy who ages to death in his own time machine in The City of Death. When I was 10 I thought this was one of the best cliff-hangers ever.

Longtime fans may be somewhat wary of this news, perhaps still reeling from the less than awe-inspiring film adaptation from 2004
