Former (Philippines) Chief Justice Renato Corona died of cardiac arrest early Friday morning (April 29). He was 67. At 1:48 am today, April 29, 2016, Chief Justice Corona succumbed to cardiac arrest.

 

Many Coronas were consumed in his honour.

Former Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Elbert Cooper, 95, died Sunday at his Signal Mountain home after a short illness, according to his son, Robert E. Cooper Jr., former Tennessee attorney general.

Harry Briggs Jr., whose parents originated the pivotal lawsuit (Brown vs. Board of Education) that struck down public school segregation in 1954, but whose name was relegated by fate to a forgotten legal footnote, died on Aug. 9 in the Bronx. He was 75.

The cause was complications of cancer.

A respected judge and family man known for his fairness and his keen wit, Judge Terry Adelman died Monday (Jan. 2, 2017) at St. Louis University Hospital of complications from pneumonia. He was 71 and lived in St. Louis. He was a magistrate with the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri for 23 years,

Judith S. Kaye, the first woman named to the highest court in New York and the first to serve as the state’s chief judge — a job she held longer than any of her 21 male predecessors — died on Thursday at her home in Manhattan. She was 77.

Her death, from cancer, was confirmed by her granddaughter.

George Beall, the U.S Attorney for the State of Maryland (1970-1975), notable for leading the investigation and prosecution which resulted in the resignation of US Vice President Spiro Agnew, has died aged 79.

JOHN STAMOS IS DEAD!

A son of Greek immigrants who rose to be a respected Illinois Supreme Court justice, John J. Stamos developed a reputation for integrity to match his legal wisdom.

 

Mr. Stamos died Saturday of pulmonary fibrosis at his Northbrook home after a dinner with his family to celebrate his 93rd birthday, which fell Monday, the day his family planned his funeral.

(Pakistan) Supreme Court’s Senior Judge Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed underwent successful angioplasty at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC), as he was rushed to the armed forces institute last night after chest pains.

RIC Head Maj. Gen. (retd) Azhar Kayani said, “Justice Saeed’s health is now stable as he has been shifted to the ward after angioplasty. He has been advised a complete rest at least for a week.” According to doctors, Justice Saeed suffered a heart attack.

Sir Kenneth Newman, former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police (1982-1987), has died aged 90. 

Sir Nicholas Wall QC, former President of the Family Division of the High Court (2010-2012), has died aged 71. 
Edit: Rather tragically, it's been announced Sir Nicholas Wall committed suicide after being diagnosed with dementia.
