Sir David Wilmot, former Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, short illness. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/sir-david-wilmot-dies-tributes-9457916

He succeeded James Anderton *spit* (who apparently still lives, disgusting man).

Various reports on the Musktweets that James Anderton has died yesterday.

No rejoicing here - until it is confirmed of course. Then there will be bunting, whisky drinking and joy unconfined.

DDP Pick still I believe @gcreptile.

William Sullivan, the former Chief Justice of the state of Connecticut, has died. He was 83. Sullivan was a decorated Vietnam War veteran who served as chief justice from 2001 to 2006. However, his reputation was tarnished late in his career when he was suspended for violating judicial ethics codes in the mid-2000s.

A very significant death in the political/legal world of the U.S

Not only, as mentioned above, did he have a key role in the Clinton impeachment proceedings, but also in Donald Trump's first impeachment trial. In Clinton's he was on the offensive, in Trump's on the defensive. This doesn't include his history as a Ronald Reagan appointed judge or the many cases debated in front of the SCOTUS as a U.S Solicitor General. At one time he was the president of Baylor University when multiple sexual assault allegations were ignored, leading to a subsequent investigation and Mr. Starr being fired. Complicated and complex legacy.

It is reported that he died of complications from surgery. A notable death for the current times.

Georgia State Trooper Ronnie Gay has died. He was one of three actual state troopers who had parts in Smokey & The Bandit. He's the one asking to be let off at the next exit.
