Glen also wants to wish everyone a lovely 2014! SC Smug stopped being appreciated when I got back in town. It has absoultely nothing to do with the fact he's on my DDP by the way. Clearly he's not on yours because he's too well known/famous...

Like is there a good chance for a sweepstake, or for him to even die this year? Or can he still linger on for a few years?

Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted March 8, 2016 Apparently the average survival time after entering stage 7 of Alzheimer's is 18 months.
RadGuy 1,614 Posted March 8, 2016 Well that gives him a very small chance of making it to 2018. So he's a good bet for this year or next.

JiroemonKimura 95 Posted March 9, 2016 Apparently the average survival time after entering stage 7 of Alzheimer's is 18 months. The article states that most patients die around 7c-7d. If he just entered stage 7, that means he is expected to survive 3-4 more years, and possibly up to 8-10. (7a-7e takes an average of 6 years, and patients can survive a few more years in 7f)

He's a decent pick in 2017. Mind, he's going to get the best medical attention money can buy -- those 'averages' are for common folk like you and I. He automatically gets a few months due to better care, better facilities, 24-hour watch, etc etc. Let me know when he resigns to taking generic alternatives to 'pricy' meds. All taken on board, but Campbell is #4 on my HPDP team (the three above are already dead - the six below are alive) so that was a bad call.
