the_engineer 1,415 Posted November 7, 2012 there's only one clive dunn one clive dunnnnn there's only one clive dunn. I would like to see maybe paul mccartney or ozzy Osbourne since they were on the first deathlist too.
Windsor 2,233 Posted November 7, 2012 Dickie O is not relevant to the DL. How many times has he been on the list? Ozzy Osbourne is a survivor of the 1987 list...but he's no Clive Dunn.

Guest Clive Dunn Posted November 7, 2012 Perhaps its time for a new DL logo, our Poster child needs to become the poster !
Vinegar Tits 606 Posted November 7, 2012 Castro? I can't think of anyone else. There's only one Clive Dunn.
Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted November 7, 2012 To answer my own thread, I don't think it's possible. It'd be like those Paul Merton versions of "Hancock's Half Hour".
time 8,595 Posted November 7, 2012 I don't think you can plan a successor, but maybe one will emerge, and we'll just instinctively know when (if) that happens.
Red Flag 84 Posted November 7, 2012 It'll have to come over time. It's not something you can impose. But yeah, there's only one Clive Dunn If there's one guy on the list that's closest to the Dunn role, it's Biggs
philheybrookbay 439 Posted November 7, 2012 It'll come naturally. Actually could we retire number 50 for 2013 out of respect?

Paul Bearer 6,101 Posted November 7, 2012 I'd vote for Ronnie Biggs
JR976evil 906 Posted November 7, 2012 I'd vote for Ronnie Biggs He is one long-time candidate who has openly acknowledged this sites existence, and rather than denouncing it seemed most flattered
sympathyforthedevil 11 Posted November 7, 2012 I swore I would never post on this forum again other than on this day. There can be no other Dunn: he more than anyone has symbolised the DL for the last 26 years. Now that we know he is not immortal, we can nevertheless maintain that he will forever remain an iconic legend of DL history. CLIVE IS DUNN AT LAST. DUNN BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!!!! Spade_Cooley 9,515 Posted November 7, 2012 Yeah, but he's also a fucking twat. EDIT: That's Biggs, not Dunn.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted November 7, 2012 Signs of a constitutional crisis? I'd go with Ozzy as he's young, from the first list in 1987 (bloodline?) And has an aura of slight ridiculousness. Hands off Thatcher, she's the DDP's very own Dunn!
Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted November 7, 2012 It'll come naturally. Actually could we retire number 50 for 2013 out of respect? I like this idea. And I don't think there can be a successor. It just won't be the same.
Paul Bearer 6,101 Posted November 7, 2012 No! Keep it at 50. Dunns done. I always thought it was a waste of time putting him on the list year after year. OK, so we got it right this time. No reason to make the deathlist 49.
Octopus of Odstock 2,186 Posted November 7, 2012 It'll come naturally. Actually could we retire number 50 for 2013 out of respect? I agree, this is the only sensible approach. I don't think you can have a "new" Dunny, forcing the mantle on O'Sullivan or Biggs doesn't seem right somehow. Or even David Jason, who like Dunny, played old men long before he became one. You could also make a case for Ian Lavender, or if you want to keep someone on for years from the first deathlist, why not Andrea De Cesaris? But you're either best off picking 50 names for the right reasons, or permanently having 49.
BadEgg 38 Posted November 7, 2012 I think Dunn's title should be handed to Bill Pertwee or Ian Lavender
Rotten Ali 600 Posted November 7, 2012 The other way to do it would be to retire the number 50 and use 1 to 49 and also number 51 for a DL new favourite. Sure we have to have a true top notch British television comedy star (or BAFTA winner) who would be sorely missed at the time of their passing. I'm thinking in the John Cleese mould, Billy Connolly, maybe Ronnie Corbett or David Jason. Michael Crawford, Richard Wilson (also made a dour programme about death a few years ago), or maybe a woman... Liz Smith, Dawn (she thinks she may die soon) French or even Joanna Lumley? Guest Mitch Winehouse Posted November 7, 2012 Black Fielder-Civil, then you can tribute a person that a hateful person like your group deserves to idolize. As I said in the other posts I made, Blake and your group stopped my career plans and killed my daughter Amy when she was rapidly recovering. I believe Blake is going to kill himself in police custody after they catch him using illegal drugs within two years.
