I think I suggested her a handful of times to be put on the main deathlist. I need to check.

Italian newspaper Repubblica, which broke the news, wrote about "a long illness" which had worsened in recent months. So, yeah, cancer is my guess.

After the deaths of Westwood, Kenzo Takada, Thierry Mugler or Nino Cerruti in the last few years the designers from the 60’s-70’s are few. Mary Quant, Giorgio Armany, Ralph Lauren or Valentino next ? Quite surprised to find out that Valentino is turning 91 this year btw

I keep forgetting that he was an actual guy, and not just a brand like Mr Clean or Uncle Ben.

A real deathlisty name. Surprised he never made an appearance on the main list in recent years

Valentino seems like a deathlisty name too

Ditto. same with Calvin Klein (who is 80) and Giorgio Armani who turns 89 this year.

My all-time favourite perfume was made by Paco Rabanne.  Métal.  Sadly long discontinued.

Are we still talking about the perfume?

You can still buy a bottle online for about £90.

Fully fleshed out Telegraph obit already.

Media maybe knew that he was ill.

Interestingly he seems to have been very private about his personal life/relationships. His Telegraph obit simply contains the single sentence paragraph "He never married." at the end.

Qualifying obits appeared quite early in France, breaking New from Le Monde at around 1pm so I would say you’re late ?

Literally you every single time you post on this forum:

I said "fully fleshed out". The Telegraph obituary is 1500 words long. It looks pre-prepared and it was uploaded around 2:30PM (so 1:30PM Paris time).

Can you write a 1500 word biography on somebody in half an hour?

You're saying you could write a 1500 word biography on somebody you don't know in 30 minutes, have it proof read AND signed off by an editor?

Hmmm... I don't think so.

Then again, maybe this is your special French powers at play again.

Yes I considered picking him this year for DDP but someone picked him last year and I was determined to max out my unique picks and thought that just wouldn't be possible with him.

Oh well

He is, topically speaking, 'suffering from Frenchness'.

1) 1500 words is nothing.

2) if you don’t know Paco Rabanne, you must have lived under a rock for the past 50 years. If you do know him, then you can check facts on him on internet. It takes 5 min.

3) I don’t think I mentioned France every post as you say. And even if it’s the case, then what ? Still bitter about the hundred’s year war ? My french superpower would say to you « va te faire cuire un œuf » :)

Nationalists always eventually bring up wars, don’t they? So sad.

(Don’t @ me about Brits doing it, I fucking hate the Brexity cunts that do it too.)
