When a thread like this is randomly updated, its either a death or a birthday.

Maybe both, still a ways to go.

You're on your game today Y-Dub, that's hilarious

He's one of those boring picks who drop off the year they're not on the list, so possibly.

Yeah, or some random drive-by who posts an enigmatic and generally useless comment about knowing something s/he can't source.

I went to look and see what Tony was up to on his 90th.

Planning a second album with Lady Gaga, apparently.

Well, didn't see that one coming.

Saw him at the Macy's thanksgiving day parade today. He looks fine at 90.

You can say that about anyone at 90 and they're dead the next minute. I still think he'd be a reasonable pick.

Probably will turn out to be nothing to worry about but can't be too careful at 90.

Tony Bennett cancels some concerts due to having the flu.

Hope he lives on. I want to see the crooners outlast a few more rockers. ;)

Tony Bennett still canceling concerts over that flu virus:

In lieu of the super healthy Mr Bennett going a year on the DL without any posts: Tony Bennett seems to think that Tony Bennett is a bad pick on this years DL.

I pace myself and I plan to be active for some time to come, but I am sure there will be more gigs and I would not be surprised if I am not in the studio again before long. I have recorded all the favourite songs plus some others, but there are always new songs to sing so who knows?”

Remember Charles Aznavour ? He could really be one of those type of picks

I really don't think he 's at much risk of death this year. You can't put people on the list just cos they're old, otherwise you end up with Kirk Douglas clogging up the thing for 10 years

Should we send him a DL mug like we did with Ronnie Biggs?

By my reckoning the least likely of the list survivors to expire this year

Here's a clip of him singing last month. Certainly looking his age now. His voice has changed too but he can still belt out a tune.

he is quite active on YouTube yes, I saw this video a few days ago, he posts one or two songs a month and even if he looks old on these ones and needs to hold to the piano, he's still quite healthy for me

Not sure if anyone's pointed this out already but, following Vera Lynn's death, Tony is the earliest UK chart-topper still alive (Stranger in Paradise, May 1955).

As far as I know he's still about, so I guess he's next earliest. "Rock Around the Clock" topped the chart six months after Bennett.
