Following on from the death of John Winston announced last month, and my slightly incomplete list of the oldest living actors from Doctor Who, I thought I'd take a look at how Star Trek's doing. Obviously quite a few of the notables have passed away (Roddenberry, Majel Barrett, Nimoy, Kelley, Doohan, Whitney, Lenard), but a few are still with us, plus a whole host of bit-part players and guest performers. I'm slightly surprised there isn't a thread for the franchise, but I'm keeping Sean happy and not creating one at this time (an admin can spin this off at some point if they want to). Anyway, I've done research into all three seasons of The Original Series and may do more of the series and films (although I had a look at The Motion Picture and after the principals there's shedloads of extras and single scene actors so it may be tricky to work out who's worth doing). Here's an (I hope) exhaustive list of everyone still with us from Season 1 of The Original Series, organised by age with those I have little to no idea of at the bottom. I'll add Seasons 2 and 3 when I get a chance. I've included some notes, where relevant and apologies for any inconsistencies, it was quite hard work!

Searched for "Star Trek" got loads of links to anything with "star" in. Searched for "trek" on it's own, got sent here all the way down the first search page. Not a single mention of Star Trek anywhere in the title or description, maybe there's the clue. Anyway, good job it fits in here too isn't it, and better still I can copy and paste for completeness.

If you want to type a specific phrase on the forum type it like this in the search bar, in quotation marks:

Weeds out all the individual "star" or "trek" instances.

I love that movie. It's so awful that it's good.

Still, never had the courage to watch its four(!!) sequels. I get the impression they'd be really hard to watch. A bit like the later Elm Street and Friday the 13th sequels!

I came across an old show called One Step Beyond (*cue sax*) which ran from 1959-61. Each of the episodes follows someone who is in a haunted place/dealing with ghosts/aliens/creepy paranormal stuff. It was an anthology series and therefore had a total of 670 actors (including the creator and narrator, John Newland).

531 out of 670 of them are known to have died. The remaining cast members are all aged 64-100 and some are very famous. Here they are:

ALIVE (88)

Norman Lloyd b.1914
Jeanne Manet b.1918
Don Kennedy b.1920
Carl Duering b.1923
Patrick Jordan b.1923
Elizabeth Sellars b.1923
Wayne Mallory b.1924
Fredd Wayne b.1924

Wayne Mallory (IMDb) dead according to this death notice and the recently published SAG-AFTRA Magazine.

Clearly a week for aging actors to show up out of the woodwork post-lockdowns again. This (3 hour) zoom interview about The Man from UNCLE has Carolyn Seymour (Quantum Leap, Survivors) who is a youthful 74; respected 88 year old TV director Ray Austin (who worked on everything from The Avengers to V The Mini Series) and....

The notoriously reclusive Anthony Zerbe, Bond villain/Omega Man/etc star.  Now 85, you rarely ever see him these days so a bit of a coup for this YouTuber.
