His strike partner from 66 Orlando Ramirez follows him closely into the box as all good partners do.

Manuel Rodriguez, who played two games for Chile in their 1962 third-place run (although he didn't feature in the Battle of Santiago), dead at 79. Was apparently the coach who spotted Ivan Zamorano as well if this Google translate works.

Almost zero chance of an UK obit for amy but three more of Chile's 1962 squad are in poor health;

Carlos Contreras had a benefit dinner in April due to his "delicate" health. He's 80 this year.

Jorge Toro, who later played in Italy for Sampdoria, has "strong" leukaemia - http://www.t13.cl/noticia/deportes13/futbol-nacional/seleccion-chilena/la-dura-lucha-leucemia-jorge-toro-mundialista-chile-1962

Manuel Rodriguez has Parkinson's Disease.

As Spade has posted, Rodriguez has died. Fully expect the other two to go within a year.

Sparta announced it on their website.

Here's a crap Google translation - you can get the gist though.

Tadeus Kraus died

A few days before the biggest celebration of Czech football, Sparta and all her fans struck a sad news. With deep grief, we announce that at the age of 86, the legendary Spartan died, the Czechoslovakian representative and participant in two world championships, Tadeus Kraus.

Tadeus Kraus was born in 1932 in Třinec and his father played football. He gave him the genes, and although he was trained by a locksmith, he swiftly absorbed the world of football. At the age of sixteen he played for Třinec and then went through Olomouc and Doha Praha to Sparta.

In her jersey he played 458 matches between 1956 and 1966 and scored 201 goals. In the following years, he was an acknowledged head of the whole youth section, a coach of the first league and a league team. He remained a retired retired retired, was a regular visitor to all the matches at our stadium and was one of the greatest legends in the Spartan.

"As a player in Sparta, I was waiting for a 10-year master title. Now, as a pensioner, only four years, but it is high time for this joy to return to Letna as soon as possible, "said Mr. Kraus a year ago in a Sparta magazine interview.

Honor his memory!

On the Time Added thread, Maryportfuncity ponders if Broadis is the oldest living international and Fernando Roldan's name pops up. Well, I do believe he's still alive. The last details were in 2016; https://www.latercera.com/noticia/manuel-arriagada-a-esta-uc-hay-que-ponerle-mas-corazon/ where he is listed as being in a rest home.

Having done as thorough a search as I can, I strongly believe a lot of the 1950 players that I knew little about have gone. Sure, there might be the odd one alive that I've got down as dead, but I can see it being no more than 2 out.

So for 1950, I believe this to be as accurate as I can and all of these are either definitely or almost certainly alive (Saguier is my only real question mark):

Definitely all dead: Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, Sweden, England, USA

Believed all dead (but no information to confirm); Bolivia, Switzerland, Yugoslavia

Latest 1950 totals are as follows by the way: Red means definitely alive, blue/black is "can't be sure". In the case of Swiss and Yugoslavia 1950 - I'm pretty certain they're all dead (Beerli's the only one I think might possibly be alive, but I doubt it)
