Anyone reading anything into him retiring as a pundit with only six games of the season left? Seems odd to step down now rather than just hold on for a month...

Swimming the channel

Suggests he's not ill but on the flip side if he's got a dodgy heart he might not make it.

I wonder if Geoff Hurst* will attend West Ham final tonight ? It’s in Prague and I don’t know if he’s in a good shape to come.

*I don’t know if he has his own thread, I couldn’t find any.

Boys of 66 thread would've been more appropriate, but not to worry.

The only elderly ex player I know was there was Brian Dear who is 79 now. Trevor Brooking gave a radio interview  which I haven’t heard yet but I think he might have stayed in England to watch it.

Homecoming Parade tonight. Might be worth keeping an eye on to see if Brooking and Hurst pop up somewhere

Hurst doesn’t turn up that much to West Ham events so will be surprised if he appears but Brooking is still involved with the club so fair chance he turns up.

Saw Brooking recently at a match (earlier this year) and he's not got any obvious health issues.

With Scotland at the Euros for the first time since 1996, Former Scottish manager Craig Brown's getting a lot of reappraisal in documentaries this week and looked quite old and a bit frail tbh.

Apparently he had an aortic aneurysm last year and is lucky to still be with us. One to watch, now.

Aberdeen and Scotland hero Craig Brown reveals he had 30-percent chance of survival after an aneurysm (thescottishsun.co.uk)

(Btw, alcoholic George Burley in the mention above still lives.)

Craig Brown being reported dead:
