Morricone's composing the score to a film coming out next year, so incorrect - the legend's career continues.

Context died at...7am or whenever it was, given Tarrantino's been muddled in the whole thing too.

Did he ever say explicitly that this is one of those "retirerment tours"?

Timely bump.

Enrico Ciacci dead at 75.

Was given joint credit for the Trilogy guitar solos for Morricone, then Morricone was sued by the daughter of the joint creditor Pino Rucher saying it was all his work.

We need a "phew" emoticon for when threads like this rise from the grave suddenly for innocuous reasons.

BBC just reported him dead

Doubtless there'll be a link up by the time I've had my breakfast

Seeing those links - and I've had my breakfast (in case anyone was askin', like) - might avail myself of a large portion of spaghetti later in honour of the dead legend, or summat

The man had a career in early Italian rock n roll as well, never forget. It's his orchestra on this absolute banger:

In this new, strange post-Christopher Sanderson-who-was-once-married-to-Susan era, I was wondering what the protocol for starting threads is? I couldn't find anything in the unwritten rules.

I have no news whatsoever on this not particularly old or unwell composer, though I am a big fan of his evocative soundtracks.

He'll die one day, I feel convinced of it.

Oh look, it's on the front page.

Will it be deleted, I ask myself? Merged with Eli Wallach, praps?

I'm sad to have been proven correct after 7 years.

Incidentally, and unsurprisingly, Chris Sarandon  (for it was he) has therefore outlived Ennio. Still, he kept his thread.

I honestly thought this guy had died years and years ago. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly theme tune now in my head for the rest of the week. God help anyone who comes near me in the next few days. Beautiful music. RIP.
