Still nothing on Wilson. Don't even know if an obit will appear.

Its Sunday Drol.

His church will announce it later, and be picked up by the media after that.

Have some fucking respect.

Gil Savery, a longtime journalist who prioritized honesty and fairness in his field and in his life, has died at age 101.

Savery’s 44-year career at the Lincoln Journal included reporting, many editing positions and a major role in the newspaper winning a 1949 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. He was inducted into the Nebraska Journalism Hall of Fame in 2005 and received the highest honor available from the Nebraska Press Association — the Master Editor-Publisher Award — in 2010.

this is going to be the absolute wrong thread, but I can't wait for the (unfortunate, sad) death of a Blue Oyster Cult member in a fire, so I can use the phrase "I'm burning, im burning, im burning for you!"

He might be the oldest notable person who died by unnatural death.

Almost certainly the case. I was thinking about that a few weeks back with a couple others and we couldn't come up with anyone older than David Goodall. Well until now that is.

Hmmmm gotta be a notable one in america surely.

Since 1976, over 130 homicide victims were aged 99 and over.

He must have been in the Top 20 of notable people age-wise, or around that. I think we can determine pretty conclusively if he was the oldest notable person to die unnaturally.

But possibly not the oldest person of all. Though we could at least check that for the age of google since every centenarian dying by murder / fire / etc..  should have made the news.

You guys are nowhere even close.  Cain was killed at the age of 730, at the hands of his great, great grandson Lamech.  Unfortunately, no QO, because Genesis doesn't qualify I don't think.

I'm pretty sure Collins will get an obit next year.

UK's oldest twins are 102

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-46274208

Also likely good for BBC local coverage as and when they aren't twins any more - so Deathrace points a shoo-in if that happened soonish

I only roster twins in DDP if they are literally attached.
