Despite many deaths, the number of living centenarians has increased this year. Some of the latest additions may have good staying power too. Chao is one of them, being mentally sharp as a razor at his age and looking about ten years younger.

His staying power actually sucks. Chao Kuang Piu dead at 100.

And here is a pic from fellow HK centenarian Henry Hu's 101st birthday.

Quite difficult to think this guy can carry on administrative duties of an uni, which implies receiving more or less 300 emails per day, but if they believe that it's fine for me.

I'm almost willing to bet that we'll run out out of Chaco War veterans pretty soon- much sooner than the Spanish Civil War veterans.

I think it's best not to make a thread for them as the war wasn't as notable as other wars that have threads and they're all centenarians by now. We've lost a few of them during the last months including the last nurse of the war six days ago.

The surviving three Bolivian chaco war veterans are:

José Pradel Loayza (born in July 1914, 106) Celebrated his 106th in july: pictures.

Samuel Chuquimia Murillo (born in August 1916, 104)

Emeterio Ernesto Talavera Choque (born around 1918, 102) Still looks pretty great

Can't find nearly anything about Paraguayan veterans, but I mentioned Basilio Gonzalez before and this article mentions two others, aged 107 and 106.

Welcome Amadou Mahtar M'Bow to the 100 club! :birthday:

Another decrepit African centenarian is what we needed.

January 1921 births seem to be a much stronger group than February or March 1921 births.

There are twelve people with wikipedia articles born in January 1921 who are still alive plus two notable ones who don't have English wikipedia pages but are listed on the living centenarians list.

February 1921 has eight centenarians, but atleast Hazel McCallion and Herbert Köfer are still pretty active and in good shape, atleast mentally.

March 1921 has five this far

I'm sure most of you are aware but for those that aren't,  veteran character actor Geoffrey Chater is 100 today. :birthday:

Since you are French, I had imagined you would come here to announce Pierre Soulages had died, which was not the case. I'm angry.

I'm not French Drol.  I picked my Deathlist name  from the main character's name in 'The Dark Tower' written by Stephen King.

I am from that island in the North Atlantic known as the UK.  Aren't I lucky?

ps - I've sadly never heard of Pierre Soulages and only now am aware of him after he has 'ceased to be'.

I was mistaken - from Drol's post I thought he was meaning that this centenarian had in fact died - Soulages has therefore 'unceased' to be..
