Wiki did note that it needed a stronger citation for proof of passing before it was removed. If it was in fact the truth, I expect we'll see news only once the States and the UK newspapers start their work days.

I'm sure a DDP QO will up soon enough as well, but the WaPo one is enough to confirm that he's actually no more.

Out of sheer curiosity, does anyone have an accurate grasp of how old he was? Wiki has it as 101 (born Dec 1915), while your source has him at 102, and I'm pedantic enough to wonder :P

I'd probably go with the Dec 1915 birthdate, which makes him 101 - I guess the source just deducted birth year from death year, much like the DL front page!

Thank you!

Also, we've had 7 deaths this month from this wiki list, not counting any deaths last month, as well as not counting Adele Dunlap, who was only famous for being old. Off the top of my head I can recall 2-3 centenarian deaths last month from the linked list.

At the same time, the list only grew by 7 names since the start of the year, which means it's shorter than it was end of 2016.

I guess what I'm asking is:

-Will we see a net reduction in the list this year, as opposed to a net increase?

-Should the deaths of famous centenarians increase expectations for the main DL going down as well?

Thoughts, anyone?

i actually have my own wikia called centuryoflife its fun too being able to write stuff my own way like theyd never allow on the regular wikipedia site!

http://centuryoflife.wikia.com/wiki/Mary_Wilson

just an example of my works :ghost3:

also, i put people into categories like 2016 deaths, living people, 1916 births and whatever

I have a rule there that only people alive at the time get an article

its now in its fourth year and curiously enough each year seems to clock up fewer centenarian deaths
