Strapped securely to the white table

ether caused the body to wither and writhe

underneath the white light

Doctor arrives with knife and baggage

sees the growth as just so much cabbage

that now

must be cut away

Now comes the moment of Great! Great! Decision!

The doctor is making his first incision!

One goes here - one goes there

The ether tubes leaking says someone who's sloppy

Patient it seems is not so well sleeping

The screams echo up the hall

Don't panic someone give him pentathol instantly

To think that what we know of that one 70s DL equivalent was this close to finally getting a hit :P

Lou Reed is dead - the beginning of a new era? Pop culture has become old, many big stars are in their seventies now. Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, the remaining Beatles...

No, but he might get a blue death mask.

I thought he had his own thread...

This is sad. I own the Transformer album and The Velvet Underground of course.

I just heard the news. It is a bit of a shock as I only just bought Peter Gabriel's And I"ll Scratch Yours which contains Reed's cover of Solsbury Hill. I am more of a Laurie Anderson fan though, so my condolences to her. I guess Reed won't be walking on the wild side, or anywhere else, from now on...
