Since the list could use some more non UK/Usa based names

I would suggest

Danielle Darrieux

Franco Zeffirelli

I.M. Pei

Sir Run Run Shaw

Boutros Boutros-Ghali

Lee Kuan Yew

Queen Ratna Of Napal

EXISTING NAMES TO RETAIN:

Ronnie Biggs

Jaruzelski

Mandela

Billy Graham (either or both)

Clive James

Duke Philip (we'd look even more stupid than normal if we left him off and he died)

Zsa Zsa (it's the principle of the matter)

POSSIBLY INCLUDE:

Pope Benedict seems like a real each-way bet now after last post in his thread says his health has improved

Gough Whitlam is another one who could go either way, with no media updates for a long, long time

SOME POSSIBILITIES FOR THE NEW TOKEN-AUSSIE-ON-THE-LIST:

Bart Cummings

Rolf Harris

Lou Richards (UK obit chances?)

Jack Brabham

Either Joan Kirner or Anna Bligh (both former female premiers are seriously ill)

Kerri-Anne Kennerley (haven't heard a breast cancer update from her for a long time)

Stevie Wright

Margaret Fulton (in good health but very old now)

Bert Newton (less likely)

Ritchie Benaud (less likely)

Judith Durham (had that stroke last year but seems to be recuperating)

I think Gorbachev could be worth a punt. Not at death's door just yet, but definitely slowing down and wouldn't be a good one to miss.

Also since DL tends to dust the cobwebs off a long-unused pick or two each year, George Cole (appears on 1989 list) was noted on here a few months ago to be in failing health.

IMO everyone that's left of the top 20 should stay on except for Paisley and Mubarak. Likewise from Doris Day on down most can be removed although Jaruzelski should definitely remain.

KEEP:

Doris Day

I saw her on an elevator the other day and she looked real well. Could see her living another 5-10 years at least.
