Also, Denis Norden means my hit dry spell for Hare’s has ended. Now is the time they should be going...

About 20 minutes to go, I think it's only fair I reveal my team which was posted at the outset and copied to Bibliogryphon. No need for anyone else to post their teams as the Masterlist will be up shortly.

As you will see, I've gone with a theme team of people associated with The Beatles. Guess I won't be needing those subs mind...

Fucking hell. There's a lot of you buggers this year! Good to see, but doesn't make these any easier to put together. Also interesting to see many of the same perennial picks that haunted these entries when I last held the reigns are still alive and kicking. As well as the participants ability to drag up "who the fuck are theys?" left right and centre. :) Congrats to YW for finally ending his mammoth drought and keeping the benchmark reasonably obtainable for next years no hits harry (the technical term). Slightly rejigged the leaderboard to give more detail (this is obviously the reason, not the fact I can just copy my notes list across. :p)

Added. Also means you leap-frog 5 players up the leader board. Apologies for missing it out first time round.

Just noticed Mary Midgley died some weeks back, which I'm sad about, but the consolation is that she may have just handed me the lead here.

Couple of major items of business to get through to day folks.

Firstly, we are now officially open for entries for the 2019 game (and have been since 00:01 this morning), you have until the 31st December at 23:59 to enter. Whilst my team is late going by the letter of the rules, as no-one else has submitted a team at the time of posting this my team can be found below to comply with the no influence by other entries proviso. I hope this will be satisfactory to other players. Entries may be made in this thread or via PM to myself. Please do not bother YoungWillz with this stuff, he's rather happily enjoying his retirement and has every right to tell you to fuck off.

  1. Chris Bradley
  2. Prince Philip
  3. Queen Elizabeth II
  4. Herman Wouk
  5. Jimmy Carter
  6. Al Pacino
  7. Stephen Spielberg
  8. Paul Schrader
  9. Francis Ford Coppolla
  10. Harvey Kietel
  11. Morgan Freeman
  12. Kirk Douglas
  13. Vera Lynn
  14. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands
  15. Paul Gascoigne
  16. Nicholas Parsons
  17. Nobby Stiles
  18. Alex Ferguson
  19. Nicholas Soames
  20. William Roache
  21. June Brown
  22. Anna Reid
  23. Sinead O'Connor
  24. David Attenborough
  25. Thelma Barlow
  26. Billy Connolly
  27. David Blaine
  28. Michael Parkinson

Secondly the scoreboard needs an update in light of some massive deaths. That will follow:

You do know that the amount of names is 25 plus 3 subs rather than 20 and 3 subs, right? Also, can you pretty please open up a brand new thread? I don’t want to scroll to page 48 to find the masterlist and such...

Sorry I was a bit busy trying to work to do mental arithmetic badly when that was posted.

Masterlists have always been and will always be linked in post 1. No need to scroll.

And yes, it will be a theme team again. Huzzah!

Left for dead in mid Nov in the middle of the pack, suddenly a hit for Lima AND a JOKER/WILDCARD hit for Pres Bush, a good 10 days for SirC.  Looking forward to when the dust settles on this tandem.  Gotta be damn near double the 935 points I had before the onslaught.
