The Ones That Will Truly Be Missed Who Died In 2013.

Recommended Posts

Now the year is closing, we close the score of this year and add up the ones we lost this year. Many of those you might not care a lot for. Margaret Thatcher, are you going to miss that witch? Mandela? Come on, it was his time to go.

But who are the ones who you really gonna miss?

My top 7 list (in no particular order):

Lou Reed

Marcia Wallace (Edna Krabappel in the Simpsons)

Dennis Farina, one of my favorite actors

James Gandolfini

Paul Walker

Ray Manzarek

Jeff Hanneman

There's only one answer to this question for me.Only one person died this year who's loss will have a tangible impact on the future of world politics and millions of people. That man is Hugo Chavez.

Margaret Thatcher

Transformed Britain from a banana republic ( the sick man of Europe) into a global economic superpower, made Britain great again after decades of decline

Did more than anyone to bring down the iron curtain

Pivotal in ending apartheid

One of the all time great leaders in the world if not the greatest

Could anyone listing Paul Walker as someone to be missed please provide an explanation as to why?

The sole impact of his loss will be that F&F7 might not get made. That's a positive in my book.

I appreciate that he did a bit of charity work in between earning millions off the back of three facial expressions and being slightly less effeminate than Vin Diesel, but he's no Bob Geldof*.

*For the record, I also dislike Bob Geldof.

It might seem a little weird to be disappointed by the death of a 98-year old man, but I have to go with second-unit director Michael D. Moore. He had an incredible career that started as a silent film actor in pictures like Cecil de Mille's The King of Kings.

As an adult, he was involved in films like:

Houdini

The Ten Commandments

Gunfight at the O.K. Corral

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Patton

The Man Who Would Be King

The 3 first Indiana Jones films

101 Dalmatians (1996)

Little Giants

Flubber

102 Dalmatians (2000)

Not to mention, he worked with Elvis Presley in 7-8 movies.

Doris Lessing. She had a brilliant mind and I read - and mostly treasured - her entire fictional output.

Lessing wrote my all time favourite, Memoirs of a Survivor, and it's sad to think that the force which created this work is no longer with us :( . RIP Doris, I never looked at a wall the same way again after reading that book.
